Therefore, in the sacred land of India, there is no distinction between new and old in the Fruition Vehicle. However, in this snowy land of Tibet, due to the different translators, the Secret Mantras are known as new and old. Therefore, according to the New Mantras, there are views for the four castes, views for the four types of intelligence, views for the four periods of time, views for the four objects to be tamed, and in order to rectify the following of the four inversions, the four classes of tantras are taught. Generally speaking, in the tantra of the Arrangement of the Vajra Essence, it says: The tantras of the Sugata's intention are truly taught in four aspects, namely, the Action Tantra, the Performance Tantra, the Yoga Tantra, and the Unsurpassed Yoga Tantra. Here, what is different from these is the Old Secret Mantra. That is, there is a tradition of citing the six great superiorities of the great translator Rongzompa and others. But here, when establishing it from the difference in translation, the Lord of Tongma, Longchenpa, said: In India, there is only the name Secret Mantra, and there is no distinction such as "This is the New School" or "This is the Old School." But in Tibet, due to the order of translation, there are separate divisions. From the translations of the great translator Vairotsana and others during the early propagation period of the kings and ministers, up to the tantras translated by Pandita Smriti, they are considered the Old School. The tantras translated after the translator Rinchen Zangpo are known as the New School. Between these two, there seems to be a difference in the ease of understanding and the greatness of the realization of the sphere. This is because the former translators were incarnations of the Buddha, so they were able to translate independently, and therefore the blessings were great. The later translators were scholars who appeared in the manner of ordinary people, so the words were strict and difficult to understand. They only translated according to the word order of the Sanskrit texts, and could not translate the meaning, so this situation arose. As he said. If we speak from the nature of the knowable tantras, here, all the Dharma wheels of Sutra and Tantra can be fully explained, and the Secret Mantra Path is perfected, so the establishment of the Nine Successive Stages is also explained in the explanatory tantra, the Collected Intentions Tantra: Generation, Guidance, Austerity, Intelligence, Mastery, and the Vehicle of Means. In reality, in the Sutra aspect, there are also initiation rituals such as the Great Radiance, which are manifested here and matured in the manner of complete teachings.

Furthermore, especially the expedient method of transforming power, namely the three inner tantras, without the great effort of adopting and abandoning the impurities of the elements, from the realm of the basis, complete and immutable, all phenomena are inherently manifest and enlightened as the wondrous magic of awareness, this is Mahāyoga. All remembrance and awareness are enlightened from the realm in the expanse of vast, new light, this is Anuyoga. Without relying on causes, conditions, effort, and accomplishment, by knowing the key point that the three bodies are inherently complete in the present awareness, saṃsāra is pacified into namelessness, this is the Great Perfection, Atiyoga. The extensive noble Dharma of these is like that which cannot be exhausted even if spoken of for kalpas. These great tantras are not widely known even in the noble land (India) like the common secret mantras, but are held by Bodhisattvas (383) who have received tantric empowerment, supreme accomplished ones, vidyādharas, and ḍākinīs, in their own abodes, Akanishtha, the sacred places of Vajrayoginī, and other pure lands, as well as parts of Jambudvīpa, such as Oḍḍiyāna, Shambhala, Siṃhala, and Malaya. From these places, the eight great vidyādharas, and among them, the great teachers Nāgārjuna, Padmasambhava, Vimalamitra, and others, opened the secret treasury of the ḍākinīs, and translated it after taking it with the power of miraculous displays. Therefore, it is not widely known even to the Indian teachers, and it is particularly superior because of its profound essence. As it is said in the "Union of Sun and Moon Tantra": "If the history is not explained with meaning, it will become a fault of disbelief in this teaching of great certainty." Therefore, in order to believe in such secret mantras and to establish a reliable basis, I will briefly discuss the history of the lineage. In the realm of Dharma-dhātu, the space of luminosity free from elaboration, in a pure land without limits or partiality, the support of original enlightenment, the Bhagavan, the perfectly enlightened Buddha, named Samantabhadra, is clear and unpolluted within, the essence of which nothing has been established, but the great manifestation of the nature of the three bodies, always abiding, from the uncompounded self-radiance of his compassion, emanate Vajradhara, Vajrasattva, the five families of Buddhas, and so forth, constantly in the great pure lands such as Akanishtha.
