With the rays of... burn the obstructing demon armies. Recite: Om Arya Chandra Jwala Jwala Hum Phat. Expel and burn with the mantra of four Hums. Fifth, protection: If a lion skin is not available, gather ten or twelve pegs made of fierce wood such as thorny wood, and clearly insert them with visualization that matches the meaning of the words. Hum, from the heart of the self-deity, emanates the Wrathful King Takkiraja. Reddish-white, one face and two arms, holding a hammer in the right hand and an iron hook in the left. Having emanated, it radiates in the ten directions, Summoning the ten directional guardians, Spreading cushions in all ten directions, men and women lying face up and face down intertwined. Recite the mantra of four Hums and the life mantra of the directional guardians: Om Indraye, Agnaye, Yamaye, Nirrti, Varunaya, Vayavi, Kuberaya, Ishanaya, Surya Chandra, Pratibhya, Tira Pama, Ja Hum Bam Ho. ज हुं बं हो, Sanskrit Romanization: oṃ indra ye. agna ye. yama ye. nirṛti. varuṇa ya. vaya vi. kubera. īśāna ya. sūrya candra. prati bhya. tira pa ma. ja hūṃ baṃ ho, Literal Chinese meaning: Om, Indra, Agni, Yama, Nirriti, Varuna, Vayu, Kubera, Ishana, Sun, Moon, Prati, Tirapama, Ja, Hum, Bam, Ho.) Having summoned them by reciting, visualize the pegs as ten wrathful deities and increase their splendor: Hum, from the heart of the self-deity, on the seats of the ten directional guardians, From the emanation of ten burning Hums, From the emanation and gathering, transform into ten wrathful deities. Hum Ka, Namgyal, Scepter, Blue, Namgyal, Yama, Immovable, Hayagriva, Namgyal, Desire, Namgyal, Amrita, Three Realms, Namgyal, Great Power, meditate on them in order. All deities have three faces and six arms, the upper body in wrathful form, holding weapons, the lower body is a three-edged iron peg, inserted into the crowns of the ten directional guardians. In the center of the blazing fire, emanation upon emanation, surpassing the mother. Destroy all obstructing demon armies like dust. Recite this and distinguish between the east of the upper east and the west of the lower west to insert the pegs. Likewise, rotate the four directional pegs clockwise and the four corner pegs counterclockwise, inserting them in accordance with their respective mantras, visualizing the crowns of the heads of the ghosts and demons of the ten directions pierced through to the soles of their feet like ashes, with the lower base fixed on the golden ground of great power, making them immovable. This is like when a king is imprisoned, the subjects naturally submit to his authority, so it is necessary to be as intolerant as looking for gaps in the ground for obstacles and hindrances. If desired, one can perform the postures of dressing and entering, etc., according to the tradition of the early translated tantra sections.

Again, visualize the light rays emanating from the phurba transforming into a vajra tent, permeating all ten directions. Recite: OM VAJRA RAKSHA RAKSHA HUM HUM PHAT PHAT SVAHA. And circumambulate with vajra strides. Thus, for the tent ritual, if constructing with colored powders in old mandala houses, etc., it is necessary to invoke, purify, and hold. If relying on paintings, then the hundred-performance masters only need to do the holding and guarding. Here, if related to the great empowerment and accomplishment practices, then the outer confession practice, as stated in the root Vajra Fortress: Recite scriptures and offer water torma, create clay images and offer white images, recite Tara's names here, recite and complete the secret essence confession (352), etc. Furthermore, in the east, recite the Prajnaparamita; in the south, the Mahabala; in the west, the Lankavatara; in the north, the Ushnishakara, etc., accumulate as much merit as possible. In particular, the preliminaries for mandala activities, such as the outer, inner, and secret three boundaries, should be learned by inquiring in detail in the form of an appendix. Second, the preparation or especially the abiding ritual has three parts: deity, vase, and disciple. First, elsewhere, after drawing a blue line, arrange fragrant dots in the deity's place to make the deity especially abide. However, this is not solely for the purpose of constructing the mandala there, but it has special qualities such as descending to listen. Therefore, it is easier to enter if the drawing of the line is done later. Thus, in the place where the mandala is to be constructed, as it is said: On the ground, make fragrant dots, arrange piles equal to the number of deities. Thus, starting from the center, apply fragrant dots to each deity's place, and surround the piles equal to the number of deities with outer and inner offerings. First perform any of the brief or medium self-generation yogas. Refuge, Bodhicitta, and the seven-branch purification: Vajra Master, Buddha, Glorious. Recite three times. Bless the offerings: HUM Lama, root three, phenomena and existence are pure. Etc., until the end, each mantra three times. Then generate the support and the supported: HUM All dharmas are unborn, the clear light realm of space. To contemplate the main deity and retinue as inconceivable. Outside of that is an eight-petaled lotus.
