If thus established, Koshika, what do you think? Does the merit of a son or daughter of good family increase greatly through this cause? He replied: O Blessed One, very much so. O Well-gone One, very much so. The Blessed One said: Koshika, more than that, if a son or daughter of good family, for the sake of reading, writing, and reciting this Perfection of Wisdom, gives to others, their merit increases even more. Why is that? Koshika, because in this Perfection of Wisdom, the undefiled dharmas are extensively taught, and they are trained in them, up to the point of fully awakening. Thus, know that the Blessed One has spoken. Secondly, a few verses of dedication and aspiration: May there be auspiciousness! The All-Powerful One, the Snow Mountain Ocean of Perfected Realization, The twelve links of dependent arising, complete with karma, Possessing the halo of fresh camphor of liberation, I prostrate to the Dharma Moon that dispels darkness. 1. The suffering of samsara is extinguished, possessing the taste of peace, The form expressed by the symbols of names, phrases, and letters, The miracle of printing, from one arising many, The virtue accomplished by pure intention. 2. From that, arising from hearing, thinking, and meditating, All the well-done deeds and all beings, The accumulation of merit of the three times combined, May it enter the great ocean of the four bodies of omniscience. 3. By that power, the hells, the endless suffering, The cause, the jungle of self-grasping, the evil deeds, The suffering fire fiercely ignited by the fierce wind, May it be pacified, and may the birthplaces of happy beings be attained. 4. May the hungry ghosts also, from inner hunger and thirst, And from being afflicted by untimely seasons, Be liberated from that, and may they obtain endless happiness and wealth, And may they revel in the glory of the enjoyments of the heavens. 5. May the animals, the darkness of exploitation and ignorance, The sharp weapon to cut that, The wisdom of the Dharma, the perfect discrimination of selflessness, May the pure light always shine. 6. Also in the human world, the four rivers, The boat to cross over, the good support of leisure and endowment, Relying on that, having reached the supreme precious island of liberation, May the supreme jewel of happiness be obtained in the palm of the hand. 7. May the Asuras also, the mutual hatred and strife,

May unbearable hatred be moistened by the water of loving-kindness, May we mutually act beneficially like relatives, May we truly abide in the mind of enlightenment. 8. The gods are intoxicated by desires, Craving for pleasure becomes the cause of their own death, Knowing this, may we accumulate as if gathering water and moonlight, May we joyfully enter the path of Nirvana. 9. All beings view the aggregate as terrifying, Universally ignorant, clinging to things like crocodiles, Abandoning places like the embrace of their claws, May we diligently approach the state of peace. 10. Children chase after mirages, due to their own wealth, Being unsatisfied, they feel envious of others' prosperity, May the harsh thoughts and actions of hatred, used as weapons, be pacified. 11. In the minds of all beings, there is also the potential for enlightenment, By generating this mind, may we protect all beings, May all inner and outer decay be completely pacified, May the world be purified by the glory of perfect prosperity. 12. May the mind of the Buddha, who manifests as a teacher in the degenerate age, And the armor of their resolve, be invincible to the forces of darkness, May the assembly of Vidyadharas, Adorn the earth with knowledge and liberation. 13. The supreme essence of the teachings is the great rise and fall of the earth, The son of non-attachment, who is extremely difficult to destroy, The lord of the four assemblies and the ten virtues, the prince, princess, and queen, Together with the chaste royal government and the gathering of goodness, 14. May all the perfections of life, dharma, wealth, and lineage, without any diminution, Like a summer reservoir, Like the glory of Mount Meru, be the sustenance of all beings, May they be victorious in all directions and subdue all lands. 15. May the tree of generosity be thoroughly moistened with the water of compassion, In the cool shade of the complete fruit of giving, May the minds of all beings be fulfilled and joyful, May we unswervingly reach the perfection of giving. 16. May the senses be completely pacified, free from sin, and disciplined, May we contemplate well and rejoice in the state of peace, May the pure and immaculate discipline, which is a treasure of countless qualities, be perfected. 10. Seeing all things as illusory, for the sake of others, Acting without regard for body and life, In places difficult to practice, may the patience of the noble ones be perfected without end. 18. May the vow to liberate beings from the mirage-like realms of existence into Nirvana be steadfast and unwavering.
