Sometimes it shows no meditation. The incarnate body that shows like that, regarding the meaning of the unsurpassable secret mantra, is rarely mentioned. What has not been mentioned will not be mentioned. Even if it is mentioned at times, in places where there are no names of Arhats, Pratyekabuddhas, Sutras, and Lower Vehicles, the Unsurpassed Vehicle will be proclaimed. Therefore, keep it secret from those of inferior intelligence. Thus, regarding the positions of view, conduct, grounds, and paths, do not cling to them as one, but cherish understanding the benefits and harms of the immeasurable categories of distinctions and collections. Then, the thirty-second question: Are the pure lands such as Sukhavati and Abhirati established as having characteristics or not? If not established, then horses, elephants, birds, and lotus groves on islands, and the lineages of Bodhisattvas abiding on the grounds and paths exist, and it is taught that they are born from lotuses. If established, then it contradicts the great bliss pure land that is devoid of characteristics. Thus, in answering that, because the actual characteristics are not naturally established, the term great bliss purity is spoken. If you think that those are with characteristics, why are they designated as pure lands? If you assert that their nature is with characteristics merely because there are islands, lotus groves, horses, elephants, birds, and lineages of Bodhisattvas abiding on the ground, then when various appearances of objects arise in a dream while asleep, do you also assert that they are established in the same way when awake? Therefore, in the face of self-appearing purity, like clear bubbles or like clouds from the sky, pure lands appear like illusions. Moreover, the animals such as horses, elephants, peacocks, kalavinkas, and bees in the self-nature emanation realms such as Abhirati, although appearing as forms of animals, are not ordinary in reality, but are lineages of Bodhisattvas abiding on the ground, listening to the Dharma from their own masters, and proclaiming the sound of the Great Vehicle Dharma through gestures and expressions. Moreover, taking the common pure land Sukhavati as an example, the qualities are inconceivable and the miraculous displays are immeasurable, yet self-appearances are enjoyed by oneself. There, food, clothing, medicine, etc., arise merely through thought, and birth by transformation in lotuses, etc., the objects of enjoyment are inconceivable, as it says in the Drum Sound Sutra: In the world-system of Sukhavati, there dwells the complete Buddha, the Tathagata Amitayus.

Just mentioning his name once, one will be born there. At the time of death, it appears, and monks and sanghas will see it. There are no women there, nor are there any dwelling in the womb. From the lotus of jewels, great magical powers will arise. Food, clothing, and medicines, Dharma robes, bedding, and alms bowls, on the land thought of in the mind, those will appear in abundance. All the Buddhas abiding in the ten directions praise Sukhavati. Thus it is said. Then, in the thirty-third question, are equipoise and subsequent attainment one or not one? If they are one, dividing into two is contradictory. If they are not one, then the awareness of that very self-ground becomes two separate things. Thus, the answer is given. The essence of equipoise, know all phenomena as like the sky. With the wisdom of subsequent attainment, distinguish all phenomena without mixing them. This is the intention of the Sutra Pitaka Prajnaparamita. Especially in the Dzogchen of our own tradition, the skillful means of the appearance of sounds and various discriminations, no matter how they move, are in the Dharmadhatu originally, in the equality of awareness and emptiness, in the Great Perfection, completely merged and become equipoise, and from that, the compassionate part of emanation and transformation, after specifically arranging, upon the realization of the emptiness of that and that nature, the name subsequent attainment is established. In meaning, it is not two, like the sun and its rays, water and its nature of coolness, fire and its tactile warmth, from the perspective of essence and nature, divided into two, but those are not substantial contradictions, just as one hand has the names of palm and back, from the perspective of a part, it is thus established. In meaning, it is neither one nor two, the Dharmadhatu of the vast expanse of liberation from extremes, when the stronghold of view is seized, for the originally pure equipoise and subsequent attainment, there is no need to separately establish names. For the ordinary naked awareness and emptiness, there is no name of view, meditation, and conduct, from where to seek equipoise and subsequent attainment? There is nothing to meditate on, for whom to be busy? There is no view, realize the true nature. There is no discrimination, free from grasping. In the rays of wisdom of Longchen Khyen Tze (Longchen Rabjam), blessed by gods and demons, there are no signs of accomplishment with characteristics, after the ability of knowing as it is and as many as there are is manifested, inwardly, unspeakable experiences arise, outwardly, profound Dharma treasures emerge, after words
