When meditating on the absence of inherent existence, the perceived objects appear in various colors. In the realm of appearances, are there differences or not? If there are, then the appearing objects contradict the absence of inherent existence and the intended emptiness without characteristics. If there are not, then from the union of means and perfection stages onward, the qualities of the supremely endowed luminous appearances and immeasurable virtues that are spoken of are contradicted. Thus, this is spoken in response to a question. In general, in the collections of teachings common to the Hearers' Vehicle and others, appearances are considered to be indivisible particles and so forth, regarded as material emptiness and so on. In particular, in the Vajra Vehicle, appearances are viewed as deities to be cherished, and in the Great Perfection of Naturalness, they are viewed as forms and bindus and so on. Although the nature of things appears differently according to the capacity of the mind on the path, if one measures it with the power of the view of the ultimate reality free from elaboration, then the characteristics of the various colors of the appearing objects are sealed with emptiness. It is not merely a fabricated philosophical system like the absorption of cessation at the peak of existence, which falls into the one-sided non-conceptualization that stops the appearance aspect. Rather, in the co-emergence of the primordially established emptiness beyond expression and the nature of clear awareness, the nature of the various colors of the appearing objects is clear and unmixed. Although they appear, one is liberated from the nature of grasping at them as such, so there is neither appearance nor non-appearance. Why is this so? It is because the essence of awareness, which is emptiness, has never been stained by appearances. It is because the one who appears is suddenly bound by grasping onto the object of apprehension. The darkness of non-appearance is also not like that. The nature of awareness is unceasing, like the reflections on the surface of a mirror. The interdependent connections of appearances are limitless, clear and distinct without being stained. For example, in the moon in water, although the shape of the moon is complete, the moon does not stain the water. Likewise, in the reflection that appears, there is not a trace of the qualities of the moon, such as light and the cool touch. Therefore, no matter what the interdependent connections of appearances manifest as, whether pure or impure, the distinguishing factor is the liberation from grasping. From the perspective of awareness, which is inwardly clear and the pacification of all elaborations, it is like that. Furthermore, from the perspective of the ground appearance outwardly clear, when appearances arise as deluded appearances and pure appearances, deluded appearances are the door to impure samsara. As they appear, without understanding, one cannot transcend the seed itself. Pure appearances are the door to the path of liberation. From the perspective of the essence, like delusion, although they appear, from the perspective of function

Therefore, because there is a difference in liberation, in the appearance of luminous illusion, immeasurable merits are proclaimed. For example, the light of a jewel lamp, although the same in the nature of light, a jewel cannot dispel darkness, but a lamp can dispel darkness. In order to know, it is said in the Compendium on Valid Cognition: For the light of a jewel lamp, what is manifested by the wisdom of the jewel is no different from the wisdom of wrong views, but how it functions is different. Thus. In reality, these are the rules for measuring the Dharma realm with wisdom, so it is not a place for arguing with the wisdom of conceptual thought. Rather, it is necessary to distinguish with the eye of wisdom that truly sees, from the different aspects of the essence and nature, in order to realize it. In the thirty-seventh question: Which comes first, samsara or nirvana? Sentient beings come first. Where do sentient beings come from? If it is said that they come from ignorance, then in the initial boundless emptiness, what is ignorance composed of? What is its place of origin and time of origin? If it is said that the Buddha comes first, then initially it is not sentient beings, nor is it dependent on the mind of delusion and liberation, such a Buddha is a place of bliss. This is how to answer the question. The nature of phenomena that appear as samsara and nirvana, the essence is clarity and ignorance, like the front and back of a hand, one basis, two natures. For it, there is no time of before and after, nor is there a characteristic that can be established, but for those to be tamed and those who tame, relying on the primordial protector, showing the essence of the Sugata's heart as the basis, from then on, manifesting pure lands, explaining the order in which the container and its contents are formed, relying on these reasons, it is called the initial Buddha. Thus, the manifested nirmanakaya realm, for the container and its contents of this Sahā world, relying on interdependent origination, such as the four wind goddesses, etc., the types of beings of the existence of karma, at the same time as the formation of the world, arise from karma, and at the same time as destruction, the measure of life is fulfilled, the beings born of common karma, from the mind entering, the consciousness of...
