. Non-dual wisdom is like water and milk, with various tastes becoming one, a continuous great bliss. Thus, it is shown that awareness is primordially free from elaboration. If one fabricates and modifies it with the focus of generation and completion stages, recitations, meditations, etc., it does not transcend the intellect and becomes flawed. As it says: Some are completely tormented by empowerments. Some say "Hum Phat (藏文:ཧཱུཾ་ ཕཊ།,梵文天城體:हुं फट्,梵文羅馬擬音:hūṃ phaṭ,漢語字面意思:吽 啪)" and fully count rosaries. Some eat feces, urine, blood, semen, and meat. Some meditate on the yoga of channels and winds and become confused. Thus, based on the foundation of primordial purity, which is free from thought and beyond fabricated mental activity, the continuous nature of reality, the unique characteristic of this uncommon path is to not fall into intellectualization but to look directly at the wisdom of manifest luminosity. In the path, it is necessary to purify the aggregates with the stains and coarseness of the three doors, the moving experiences, and the coarse wind-mind. Therefore, the sequence of the four visions is shown. When these go to self-purification, the signs of the lower grounds and paths being spontaneously perfected arise. It is with the intention that when the higher is perfected, the lower is spontaneously perfected that the Great Perfection, being on one ground, does not require cultivation or progression. The one ground is the ground of spontaneously accomplished awareness, as it says in the Kunjed Gyalpo: Without transformation or cultivation, the ground of spontaneously perfected awareness. Thus, in terms of the entry into the path of one individual, after the completion of all empowerments, with the common preliminaries, one develops faith in the path of the lower vehicles and becomes a stepping stone to enter the higher. Then, after completing the uncommon preliminaries with the actual empowerment, one is introduced to the stainless awareness, the great expanse, which is unmixed with mind. The difference between mind and awareness is, as it says in the Rangshar: The example of mind and awareness is like water and bubbles. Awareness is like clear water residing in the center of the heart, and the nature of mind, like a bubble of water, arises from the function of wind in the channels, and thus manifests in various ways. However, since water and water bubbles are not different substances, they are of an inseparable nature. If it is said that it is not so, mind follows the presence or absence of awareness, while awareness goes and returns following the presence or absence of mind.

The reason for not (doing so) is that although wisdom pervades the mind outwardly, the mind cannot pervade wisdom inwardly. Therefore, if wisdom is not controlled by the mind, the mind will be controlled by wisdom. For example, if a spring is crooked, it is impossible for a straight stream to emerge. Similarly, if the eye of wisdom is crooked, it is impossible for the mind's conceptual thoughts not to waver. Those Dzogchen (Great Perfection) practitioners who do not understand this point and want to attain Buddhahood in their minds are truly ignorant. Therefore, in the *Condensed Meaning Tantra*, it says: 'Fools who have not seen the definitive meaning say that there is no Dharma apart from the mind. Therefore, ignorant people, their wisdom is confused. Foolish meditators are ruined by meditating on darkness. This Dharma of the mind that arises from whatever is thought should be abandoned.' It also says: 'All ignorant and deluded people say that the Dharmakaya itself is also the mind. Therefore, they do not understand the meaning of the words, and few can understand the definitive meaning from the names. Therefore, they cannot realize the nature of the mind. Wanting to attain Buddhahood from the mind is like a eunuch marrying a daughter.' Therefore, all the minds of the three realms and the fifty-one mental factors are merely nominal designations, because in the Two Truths it is also said: 'The mind and mental factors of the three realms are conceptual thoughts with fabricated appearances.' Therefore, if ignorance is mistaken for mind and wisdom is mistaken for primordial awareness, one will be far from the state of Nirvana. Even in the great treatises such as Madhyamaka, which take the mind as the path to attain Buddhahood, in the definition of self-emptiness and other-emptiness, just as when distinguishing between outer emptiness and inner emptiness, one does not say outer emptiness and inner emptiness, but rather outer emptinessness and inner emptinessness, similarly, mind and mind-essence are divided into two, and the nature of the eight consciousnesses, seven consciousnesses, or six consciousnesses is summarized as something to be abandoned, while the naturally pure mind-essence is understood as something to be adopted, and thus the path is practiced. So, are these two the same? No, they are very different. In the *Klong Drugpa* it says: 'Alas! Great Bodhisattva, primordial awareness and the mind-essence that arises from primordial awareness are beyond all defilements and conceptual thoughts. In short, it is all the cause and effect of Nirvana, and the realm of those who have self-realized primordial awareness.' The mind that clings to its own characteristics is like all things that appear to be fabricated, and all things that appear to exist, all things that appear not to exist, and appearance and fame.

And, all that appears as view, practice, and conduct, as well as clinging, conceptualization, and afflictions, are all that appear as objects of thought. In short, all the dharmas of samsara are the mind that clings to its own characteristics, that is, all the appearances of the individual karmas of the six types of beings. As it is said, although the mind is the same only in terms of its nature to be abandoned, there is a difference in that awareness and the nature of mind arising from awareness, and the mind that clings to its own characteristics, appear as different aspects of dharmata. In particular, here, the dharma is superior because the mind is not mixed and awareness is the key point of direct perception. After such recognition, the path of direct luminosity is shown, and after all the parts of the method of practice are completely explained, those fortunate ones also contemplate the meaning of the Heart Essence Instructions in extremely secluded places such as charnel grounds, islands, and empty valleys. The four appearances arise gradually, or they may be perfected simultaneously, which is only explained to that extent. As before, the best take three years, the intermediate five, and the worst seven, to separate the gross appearance from the clear light and attain Buddhahood in the Ogmin of self-appearing meaning.
