Son, the root lies in rigpa (wisdom), and the nature of rigpa is emptiness and clarity, free from the duality of subject and object. Therefore, by holding the tantra as self-awareness, one encounters the wisdom of rigpa. By cherishing it, samadhi abides within oneself; by reading it, the meaning of what is expressed arises in the mind; by speaking it, one obtains supreme and common siddhis. By meditating on it, samsara is uprooted from its foundation. By listening to it, one understands the essential meaning. Rigpa is like a string of pearls, and by distinguishing its meanings, one will see its very nature. Thus, among these established points, for those of lesser intellect who need to be tamed with elaboration, all eighteen tantras are fully taught. For those of intermediate capacity, it is taught as condensed into eight sections. For those of superior capacity who need less elaboration, two are distinguished from method and three from nature, making five sufficient. The object of attachment and the symbol, the tantra of method, is self-aware great luminosity, and the symbolizing tantra of method is the path of Trekchö and Tögal. Distinguished from nature are the base tantra, self-arisen primordial wisdom; the heart essence tantra, the light rays of the heart; and the essence tantra, the union of the meaning of the heart essence, making five. Furthermore, for the superior, the base is the all-pervading meaning tantra of the nature of rigpa, and the method of experiencing that, the word tantra, are taught through these two aspects. For those who are extremely superior and free from elaboration, all terminology is completed in the single base tantra of the expanse of self-aware luminosity, the ground tantra, and thus it is accomplished. As it says in the Thalgyur: 'Thus, the nature of reality is inexpressible, arising from the basis of differentiated words. The order of word expression is perfectly pure, and now it is perfected in the state of inexpressibility.' Thus. Or, as it says in the Ati Adornment: 'Its meaning and words are expressed through elaboration. For those with elaboration, the base is the heart essence. For those without elaboration, there are seventeen categories. If there is absolutely no elaboration, then it is the Vajra Adornment itself. For those who are completely free from elaboration, liberation is through the three times.' As such, for those with elaboration, the base and heart essence tantras are all the contents of thigle (bindu). For the intermediate, there are seventeen. For the superior, there is the tantra of the self-arisen seed. Furthermore, for the superior Tögal practitioner, liberation is through the three times, like Jampal Shenyen and Shri Singha, and so on. The fourth purpose is the place of self-liberation of rigpa. The meaning of the purpose is as follows: rigpa and primordial wisdom are established

Sha. Therefore, to explain the necessity, all tantras, transmissions, and instructions are in agreement. In order to attain true liberation through this, two necessities are explained. Thus it is said. In this way, the seventeen tantras that explain the definitive are located in the two sections of the Nyingma Tantras collection, and these were translated by the great scholar Vimalamitra and the translator Ka-chok. Furthermore, those known as the general tantras of Dzogchen, such as "Vast Sky," etc., are the finite tantras that show the nature of mind as primordially enlightened, twenty-five tantras and so on, are definitely located in the upper part of the Tantra Collection. This is a collection of early compiled texts, arranged for the purpose of searching the catalog, under the title "The Banner of the Doctrine That Cannot Be Destroyed." In the Tantra Collection of Padma Od Ling, they are located in the two parts, cha and cha. They do exist. Fifth, the title of the Mother-Son Determination is: Thus, the seventeen tantras of the Great Secret Determination, including Krodha Ma, a total of eighteen, are the actual tantras spoken from the inexpressible expanse of the primordial protector, glorious Samantabhadra. It is placed in the position of the root or mother, and the explanatory tantras composed by each vidyadhara are counted as the sons of these tantras, hence the title known as the Mother-Son Determination. In "Self-Arisen Awareness," there are six sons such as the Explanatory Yangtik. In "Mirror of the Heart," there are three sons such as the Commentary on the Meaning of the Text. In "Lion's Perfect Strength," there are nine sons such as the Great Explanatory Tik. In "Without Letters," there are four sons such as Opening the Lotus.
