As stated in the great commentary on the Net of Magical Manifestation, one hundred and twenty-eight years after the passing away of the Teacher (Shakyamuni Buddha), on an auspicious day of the month of miracles, when various wondrous signs occurred, the king and his retinue arranged offerings. That night, the king's palace, city, and mountains were filled with light. At that time, the Lord of Secrets, Vajrapani, thinking that the time had come to turn the wheel of the secret mantra teachings, manifested and turned the wheel of the secret mantra ocean of teachings to the five oath-bound lineages: the vidyadhara Drakden Chokyong among his retinue of gods, as well as the Naga King Jokpo, the Yaksha Starmace Face, the Rakshasa Lodro Thabden, and the fortunate human Litsa Bi. Lodro Thabden wrote it down and blessed it. Later, when King Dza Asura was engaged in Vajra Yoga in a secret cave, seven extraordinary dream signs occurred: the body, speech, and mind symbols merged; a precious scripture fell; the Dharma was propagated; he was renowned as the holiest of all; a great offering was made; a rain of jewels fell; and he was prophesied to attain Buddhahood. The next morning, upon awakening, the king gathered his retinue and recounted his dream: Last night, I dreamt such a dream: On the peak of Mount Malaya, resides the palace of Vajrapani. Light radiated from his body, burning everything. The sound of his voice thundered like a dragon throughout the three thousand worlds. Light arose from his mind, illuminating existence and the world. Sunlight from his body merged into the crown of my head, moonlight from his voice merged into the soles of my feet, the blazing light of the vajra merged into my heart, the three seed syllables merged into the three places. I dreamt that existence and the world were devoured in the south. From the sky, jewels gathered like clouds, and within the blazing jewel sunlight, from a great chest of jewel amethyst, a jewel golden scripture written with lapis lazuli juice fell like a shooting star. Buddhas and Bodhisattvas, riding the sun and moon, came into the sky. Holding a golden wheel in their hands, they turned the helm of the three realms upwards. I dreamt of the propagation of secret mantras. All the Buddhas and vidyadharas proclaimed me as the holiest of all. In those great scriptures, there are Buddhas, Bodhisattvas, and vidyadharas. The sky

Dreamed of the hosts of gods and yakshas, All prostrating and circumambulating, Making offerings and praises. The sky was dense like clouds of jewels, Miraculous thunder and a thousand flashes of lightning. Various jewels fell like rain, Dreamed of picking precious flowers. From the radiance of the Buddha's speech, Dreamed of the Buddha showing manifestations on earth. Thus it was said. There, the king, amazed by the dream, looked and saw on the top of the palace, precious golden scriptures written with molten lapis lazuli. Many tantric scriptures of secret mantras rooted in "Rang Nan". There was also a cubit-high statue of Vajrapani, and the king prayed thus: The deity practiced from the past, In this place met by karma, The essence of the sacred teachings, I will never abandon to the ground. A wondrous, amazing, and marvelous form, Also known as the glorious guide of the supreme, Supreme deity connected by karma, Hold the supreme deity in the form of devotion. Thus he spoke, but when he looked at the books, he could not understand them. Then the king felt frustrated and wept for a while. Thinking that other scholars might be present, he sent for them, but the panditas were afraid that if everyone knew it would be great, but if they didn't know they would be ashamed, so they didn't want to come, but said to bring the books here. So, they loaded all the books on elephants and brought them before the king, but everyone, including the prince, could not understand them, so they returned. Then the king thought for a moment that it was because his obscurations were not purified and the two accumulations of merit and wisdom were not complete. So he prayed to the statue and the books, and thus knew the two chapters of the illusory Vajrasattva mind practice and seeing the face of the deity. Then, taking the Vajrapani statue as the basis for practice, he practiced. After six months, he directly saw the face of Vajrasattva, who asked what accomplishments he desired. He replied, "I wish to understand these books." Then Vajrasattva gave him a staff and a Dharma wheel, bestowed empowerment, gave permission, prophesied, and spoke the essence of the meaning, and then disappeared. By the blessings of Vajrasattva, he fully understood all the books, and transmitted these oral instructions to the stainless fame of Licchavi, thus spreading them in the human realm. From the Vajra Tent Tantra.
