Karna desires to attain the state of Brahma. The Victorious One says that liberation is achieved by binding, burning, obstructing, and dying. Following this, they believe that liberation has color and shape, and that trees have life. They say that this is because cutting the leaves causes them to shrink, and peeling the bark causes them to dry up and die. The annihilationist Pūrbus are said to have attained accomplishment by relying on thirty-three stakes. That sage, who was named the teacher of the gods because Indra taught him sounds, when the asuras attacked the gods, the gods became disheartened because they were afraid of cause and effect. For a while, in order to make the gods happy and victorious in battle, he composed a treatise that declared that there is no cause and effect, no past and future lives, no liberation, and so on. Later, this treatise was propagated in the human realm by Grokhara, who said: Enjoy happiness until the beautiful woman dies. After death, she is no longer an object of enjoyment. The body also disappears like ashes, how could there be rebirth? They believe that there is no future life, and they slander the scriptures, saying: Alas! What the learned say is like the footprints of a cunning jackal. They also say: As much as the senses can enjoy, that is all there is to a person. They believe that there are no beings other than those that can be seen with the eyes. Intelligence is the nature of the body, the body is the result, the body is the quality, and relying on these three ways, becoming accustomed to them, there will be no existence. They also falsely claim that the fruit of practicing the path, the Buddha, is false. Who created the stamens of the lotus? Who drew the patterns of the peacock? Who sharpened the sharp thorns? Everything arises without cause. They thus slander the cause of the producer and the produced, claiming that self-nature is the cause, like mushrooms sprouting on the grass, believing that things arise suddenly. They believe that self and happiness and suffering exist until death, and that after death they cease like the smoke of an extinguished fire. Their names are also known as "Far Throwers" and "Pleasers." Thus, if one distinguishes the doctrines of the outsiders, it is said that there are three hundred and sixty views. In order to recognize that these are evil paths and not fall into them, and in order to refute them with meaning, the classifications of tenets are also extensively explained in the Wish-Fulfilling Treasure. As it says

The Brahma Net Sutra and the Extensive Wisdom Sutra also mention it, so Je Tsongkhapa also said so. Then, what is the need to place this in the classification of vehicles? Generally speaking, the meaning of a vehicle is to elevate from below to above, or simply to collect classifications, therefore, dwelling in the vehicle of the human and heavenly realms can refute the vehicle of false views of permanence and annihilation. Entering the correct vehicle, in order to go to the realm beyond the world, it is established as a classification of vehicles. The necessity lies in understanding the nature of those evil paths and not entering them, and also to avoid verbally admitting to being a Buddhist, but in the continuum and behavior, imitating those evil paths in a latent manner. It is said like this: 'Son of good family, I am afraid that you will enter the wrong path, so I have collected and proclaimed many views of worldly aggregates.' This is what the All-Knowing One said. Here, some people accuse that listing the classification of vehicles as nine kinds is not true. This accusation has happened in Tibet before, and still some narrow-minded people doubt it, which is not appropriate. Because before the power of human intelligence is exhausted, the classifications of names, words, and letters, and the limits of thought are inexhaustible, so there are so many doors of vehicles.
