授记说，他将会成佛。出生后第七天，母亲去世，转生到三十三天。刚出生后，他的姨妈，也就是后来的大众主，成了他的主要养育者，在她的怀抱中长大，被精心照料，被爱护。用香水沐浴，由八个四组的乳母，总共三十二人负责养育。之后，当他来到迦毗罗卫国时，释迦族聚集了很多人，其中一个粗暴、专横、不讲理的释迦族人，称菩萨为“能人”。因为城市里总是响起十二种车马等喧嚣的声音，人们感到害怕，但当这位年轻人住在那儿时，那些不驯服的声音逐渐平息，像能人一样，因此被称为释迦能人。当时，释迦族无论生男生女，都要去朝拜一个名叫释迦增的夜叉，他被释迦族人像神一样崇拜。当他们开始这样做时，菩萨一看到他们靠近自己的住所，就立刻出来迎接并顶礼膜拜，因此他被称为天中之天。当时，释迦族人疑惑这位年轻人会成为转轮王还是如来佛。遍持山仙人无垢，通过观察研究相好，驳斥了以前预言的婆罗门，消除了他们的疑虑，他说：‘那些自以为是的统治者们真是愚蠢，争斗的时代不会出现转轮王。这部功德无上的法藏，必将战胜罪恶，成为佛陀。’他还预言了出家、苦行、成佛、转法轮等等。但当时仙人知道自己将不久于人世，心中悲伤，向年轻人顶礼膜拜后，便返回了自己的住所。后来，当年轻人五岁时，剃了头发。六岁时，留了发髻，在母亲的怀抱中长大。 有一次，他想吃金盘里烤焦的米饭，母亲阻止不了他。于是，用五百头大象驮着容器，开始抢夺。

It was prophesied that he would become a Buddha. Seven days after his birth, his mother passed away and was reborn in the Heaven of Thirty-Three. Immediately after his birth, his aunt, who later became known as Mahaprajapati, became his primary caregiver, raising him in her arms, being carefully cared for, and being loved. He was bathed with perfumed water, and eight groups of four nurses, totaling thirty-two, were responsible for his upbringing. Then, when he came to Kapilavastu, many Shakya people gathered, and one rough, domineering, and unreasonable Shakya person called the Bodhisattva "Capable One." Because the city was always filled with the frightening sounds of twelve kinds of vehicles and horses, people were afraid, but when this young man resided there, those untamed sounds gradually subsided, and like the Capable One, he was known as Shakya the Capable One. At that time, whether a boy or girl was born into the Shakya clan, they had to pay homage to a Yaksha named Shakya Increase, who was revered by the Shakyas as a god. When they started to do this, as soon as the Bodhisattva saw them approaching his dwelling, he immediately came out to greet them and prostrated, so he was named the God of Gods. At that time, the Shakyas wondered whether the young man would become a Chakravartin or a Tathagata. The sage Immaculate from Mount Kun-drin, through observing and examining the marks and signs, refuted the previously prophesying Brahmins, dispelling their doubts, saying, 'Those self-righteous rulers are foolish; a Chakravartin will not arise in an age of strife. This treasury of supreme merit and dharma will surely conquer evil and become a Buddha.' He also predicted his renunciation, asceticism, enlightenment, turning the wheel of dharma, and so on. But at that time, the sage knew that he would soon pass away, and with a sorrowful expression, he bowed and circumambulated the young man before returning to his abode. Later, when the young man was five years old, his hair was cut. At six years old, he kept a topknot and grew up in his mother's arms. Once, he wanted to eat scorched rice in a golden bowl, but his mother could not stop him. So, with five hundred elephants carrying the containers, they began to snatch it away.

用手指引来大象，众人宣称，既然如此，那他的双手就能制服一千头大象。因此，他获得了“能制服千象”的四种称号。即使侍从们献上再多的装饰品，菩萨的光辉也使那些装饰品黯然失色。当时，住在园林中的女神显现身形说：“对于他来说，天生丽质的装饰胜过人造的装饰。”说完便隐身不见了。在工艺方面的精通表现为：为了展示前世的修习之力，像文字导师、昆虫铠甲和尚父拉哈等学习文字、算术、游戏等时，献上了一到五百个字母，当被问及学习了六十四种文字中的哪一种，如智慧莲花之心等时，老师们连名字都不知道，便放弃了傲慢，将他置于惊叹之境。少年又写下文字说：“说出这些是什么。”但那些人不知道，老师们也被压倒，并带领成千上万的儿童走上菩提之路。尚父善护教他骑象和世间的五种姿势等，但他展示了超越这些的姿势，使他们感到羞愧，并将他视为奇观。同样，对于工艺和游泳等无边无际、无可比拟的艺术领域，他都变得无与伦比。十六岁时，相师预言他应该娶妻，释迦族的长老们劝说他的父亲，父亲问少年，少年没有同意。再次恳请时，他写信给父亲说：“如果能找到一位容貌美丽、没有五种过失、具备八种功德的女子，为了成熟众生，我才会娶妻。”父亲按照赞颂，让一位婆罗门去寻找这样的女子。释迦族手持棍棒的女儿们都具备那些功德，女儿也承认自己具备那些功德，并承诺成为王妃。推迟了婚期。

When he beckoned the elephant with his finger, people proclaimed that if that was the case, then his two hands could subdue a thousand elephants. Therefore, he received four titles of "able to subdue a thousand elephants." Even when the attendants offered many ornaments, the bodhisattva's radiance made those ornaments pale. At that time, the goddess dwelling in the garden manifested her form and said, "For him, the natural adornment is more beautiful than artificial ornaments." After saying that, she disappeared. His mastery in craftsmanship was manifested as: In order to demonstrate the power of previous practice, when learning writing, arithmetic, games, etc. from teachers of writing, insect armor, and Shangfu Laha, he presented one to five hundred letters. When asked which of the sixty-four types of writing he had learned, such as the heart of the lotus of wisdom, the teachers did not even know the names, so they abandoned their arrogance and placed him in a state of amazement. The youth then wrote letters and said, "Say what these are." But those people did not know, and the teachers were also overwhelmed, and they led tens of thousands of children onto the path of enlightenment. Shangfu Shanhu taught him to ride elephants and the five postures of the world, etc., but he showed postures that surpassed these, making them feel ashamed and regarding him as a spectacle. Similarly, in all fields of art, such as craftsmanship and swimming, which were boundless and incomparable, he became unparalleled. At the age of sixteen, the diviner predicted that he should marry, and the elders of the Shakya clan urged his father. The father asked the youth, but the youth did not agree. When they pleaded again, he wrote a letter to his father saying, "If a woman can be found who is beautiful in appearance, free from five faults, and possesses eight virtues, then I will marry in order to ripen sentient beings." According to the praise, the father sent a Brahmin to look for such a woman. The daughters of the Shakya clan who held sticks all possessed those virtues, and the daughter also admitted that she possessed those virtues and promised to become the queen. The wedding was postponed.
