Resided in the ninth chamber. Thus, when the Victorious One was eighty years old, the supreme teacher passed into nirvana. So it is said. Some Shravaka commentators in the "Hundred Thousand Verses Commentary" say: Having conquered the demon of death, he extended his life by two months. As it is said, it is believed that two months were added on top of that. In the Mahayana Nirvana Sutra, it says: In this age of hundreds, at eighty, the characteristic of passing into nirvana, but for you, Brahmin, I have extended it by two years, increasing diligence. Thus, it is shown as eighty-two, although the calculation methods are different, it is believed that the meaning of the sutra is consistent. In the "Treasury of Tenets," it says: The teacher Bhaviveka calculated the actual years and considered eighty years plus leap months to be eighty-two, which is good. In this way, by being able to discern with wisdom, it is appropriate to establish a view that is free from contradictions even in the records of the years of liberation that appear to the objects of taming, such as the "Padma Kathang." At that time, the relics were divided into eight parts. In the Vinaya Sutra, it says: Of the eight brevo of relics of the one with five eyes, seven were obtained for the worship of the people of Jambudvipa. One brevo of that supreme being was worshiped by the Naga king of the city of Sound. So it is said. Of the four teeth of that supreme being, one was worshiped by the three roots, the gods, and the world. The second is in the delightful city of Holding Words, the third is in the land of the Kalinga king. The fourth tooth of that supreme being was worshiped by the Naga king of the city of Sound. King Ashoka resided in Kasyapa, and extensively built seven stupas. By its power, on this earth, the objects of aspiration will be manifestly adorned. In this way, the relics of the one with eyes were greatly revered and worshiped by the gods, nagas, lords of men, as well as non-humans and lords of yakshas. So it is said. Those relics, together with the four brevo, became stupas in their respective lands. In particular, the seven parts of Jambudvipa were motivated by the son of King Kasyapa, the Dharma King Ashoka, through the power of past aspirations and miraculous powers, and stupas equal to the number of handfuls of sand were built on the plains between Jambudvipa and the continents.

The Litsa Ta Stupa, or, as it is known to ordinary people, the Hundred Thousand Stupas. The history of it is that in the past, when the Teacher went to Shravasti for alms, a woman offered rice porridge. One of her children was playing among the children, and seeing the Buddha, he developed faith and grabbed a handful of sand. A boy named Moon made him squat down, and then stood on him to offer the sand. The Teacher also accepted it from the bottom of the bowl. The mother scolded the child, saying it was not right to do so. The Buddha said, "Do not scold this child, he has pure faith in me and will gain great merit." After saying this, he had Ananda count the sand, and it turned out to be exactly one hundred thousand. The Buddha said, "Ananda, two hundred years after my Nirvana, in a city called Flower City, there will be a king named Ashoka, and he will build a stupa with the relics of the Tathagata as its core in one night. The child who made him squat down will be reborn as the Yaksha Wood Cart and become an assistant in building the stupa." Thus he prophesied. Two hundred years after the Teacher's death, that child was reborn as King Ashoka. He enacted new laws, some people enjoyed happiness, like gods; some led armies and engaged in battles, like Asuras; some were punished, like in hell. In a situation where the actions of the six realms of beings were all present, a Bhikshu from Golden Island went to the king's territory. He found an ornament worn by the king's consort while bathing, which had been carried away by a crow. He took it to the market and asked who it belonged to, but he was accused of theft and punished. The king said, "I have never killed such a Bhikshu before, boil him to death in boiling butter." The ministers boiled him for three days, but he did not die, instead he was as fresh as dew. The king asked who he was, and he said, "My Khenpo is an Arhat, and I have also attained the Stream-entry fruit, so fire cannot burn me." The king therefore developed faith and requested the Dharma. The king said, "If sin arises from punishment, please tell me the method of confession." The Bhikshu said, "I do not know the method, I need to consult my Khenpo." So he invited the Arhat.
