Though appearing mixed, yet not grasping it as such, Because of liberation from the nature of grasping, Both appearance and non-appearance are absent. Why is that? It is like this: The essence of awareness is emptiness, Appearance has never been tainted. The appearance maker, the very object of grasping, Is bound suddenly by grasping. Non-appearance, the darkness, is also not that (emptiness). The nature of awareness is unceasing, Like the reflection on the surface of a mirror. The dependent arising of appearances is limitless, Clear individually without being tainted. For example, the moon in the water, Although possessing the complete form of the moon, The moon does not taint the water. Likewise, in the reflection of appearance, Light and cool touch, etc., Not even a particle of the moon's qualities exists. Therefore, whether pure or impure, No matter how the dependent arising of appearances manifests, The difference is the dharma of liberation from grasping. Inner clarity, the cessation of elaboration, Is thus in terms of awareness. That is also outwardly clear because it is the ground appearance, In terms of appearance, when deluded appearances and, Pure appearances arise, Deluded appearances are the door to impure samsara, As it appears, it does not deviate from the seed of ignorance itself. Pure appearances are the door to the path of liberation, In terms of essence, although appearing like delusion, Yet in terms of function, it, Has the difference of being liberated, In the appearance of luminous illusion, It is said that there are immeasurable qualities. For example, the light of a jewel lamp, Although the same in the nature of light, The jewel does not dispel darkness, Just as the lamp dispels darkness. To be known, in the Commentary on Valid Cognition, In the light of the jewel lamp, Manifestly running with the mind of the jewel, Although there is no difference from inverted consciousness, How is there a difference in accomplishing meaning?", "original_tibetan": "ཅེས་སོ་དོན་ལ་འདི་དག་ནི། །རིག་པས་དབྱིངས་ལ་འཇལ་བའི་ཚུལ། །ཡིན་ཕྱིར་རྟོག་གེའི་རིག་པ་ཡིས། །བརྒལ་བརྟག་མཚོན་པའི་གནས་མ་ཡིན། །ཡང་དག་མཐོང་བའི་བློ་མིག་གིས། །ངོ་བོ་དང་ནི་རང་བཞིན་གྱི། །ལྡོག་པའི་ཆ་ནི་རྣམ་དབྱེ་ནས། །རྟོགས་པར་བྱ་བ་ཁོ་ནའོ། །།དྲི་བ་སུམ་ཅུ་རྩ་བདུན་པར། །སྲིད་ཞི་གཉིས་པོ་གང་ཞིག་སྔ། །སེམས་ཅན་སྔ་ན་དང་པོ་རང་། །སེམས་ཅན་དེ་ཉིད་གང་ནས་བྱུང་། །མ་རིག་པ་ལས་བྱུང་ཞེ་ན། །དང་པོ་སྟོང་པ་རིས་མེད་", "chinese_translation": "如是,就意义而言,此等乃是, 以觉性衡量法界之方式, 是故,非为以分别之觉性, 辩驳衡量之境。 , "english_translation": "Thus, in terms of meaning, these are, The way to measure the dharmadhatu with awareness, Therefore, it is not a place to argue and measure with discriminating awareness. With the eye of wisdom that sees the truth, From the differences between essence and nature, Discriminate and distinguish, Only then can it be realized. In the thirty-seventh question, Which comes first, samsara or nirvana? Sentient beings are first and foremost. From where did those sentient beings arise? If it is said that they arise from ignorance, The initial emptiness is without limit.

La! By what is ignorance established? What is its place and time of origin? But if it is said that the Buddha is earlier, Initially, not being a sentient being, Without relying on the deluded liberation mind, Such is the joyful place of the Buddha. Thus, in response to the question, it is said: The nature of phenomena appearing in existence and peace, Its essence is wisdom and ignorance, Like the front and back of a hand, One basis, two natures are established. For this, there is no time of before and after, And no characteristic can be established, However, for those to be tamed and those who tame, Depending on the primordial protector, The basis of the Sugata-garbha initially dwells, Showing the manner of attaining peace, From this, the pure realms are arranged, The manner of the vessel and its contents gradually forming, Based on the reason for explaining, It is known as the initial Buddha. Thus, the field of manifestation arranged, The vessel and contents of this Sahā world, Depending on the arising of interdependence, Such as the four wind goddesses, The types of beings who wander in the karma of existence, Simultaneous with the formation of the world, Born from karma and destroyed, Simultaneous with the completion of the measure of life, The sentient beings of common karma, From the mind entering, the seeds of consciousness, The seeds of the apprehended aspect lie dormant. Manifest, The body of awakened samadhi, being neither existent nor non-existent, etc., The manner of gradually forming upwards, Elsewhere, it is also extensively shown, But before those skilled in the manner of thoroughness, The sectarian distinctions established, Are clear in the supreme vehicle's key instructions, In the first and second stages. The meaning is that from the single basis of self-appearance, Through the magical power of wisdom and ignorance, Existence and peace are separated, Therefore, the beginning and end of the general cycle of samsara, Likewise, the measure of the beginning and end of nirvana, These are not extensively spoken of on earth. What is not spoken will not be spoken. Why is it that in the Secret Essence, Emaho (藏文ཨེ་མ་ཧོ།,梵文天城体अहो,梵文罗马拟音aho,汉语字面意思:How Wondrous!) in the Sugata-garbha, Each individually transformed by conceptual karma, As shown by the scriptural authority, From the general basis of both samsara and nirvana, Ignorance is the condition that connects, Depending on the sudden conceptualization of grasping, Depending on the realm of sentient beings, Although it appears without beginning or end, But who will proclaim the boundaries of this, And who will name it? Therefore, in the emptiness without distinction, The manner of ignorance not being established, To speak thus is unreasonable, The pure realm is at
