If the samaya is broken, appearances will cease, and one will be born in a place of great darkness and dust. Even after emerging from there, one will be born as a mute. If the samaya of the heart is broken, one will be born in a place of great mental confusion, where disputes never cease, with fighting and great suffering, or one will become without memory, or memory will become rigid, afflicted by madness and disease, and ultimately one will be born in a place of wailing. Thus it is said. If well protected, the benefits are immeasurable, as it says in the Guhyagarbha Tantra: Those who hold the supreme lineage of the Victorious Ones will be honored by the lords of the world and their retinues. The supreme holy ones and the holy ones will regard them as sons and brothers and bestow their blessings. They will enter the realm of the Sugatas and unite with the indestructible Samantabhadra. Thus it is said. Therefore, the path of Vajrayana is extremely important in terms of benefits and harms, as the primordial protector said: Those who practice my Dharma, if they practice properly, will attain Buddhahood. If they practice improperly, they will be born in hell. It is impossible to be born as an ordinary sentient being. Therefore, the benefits and harms are extremely great. Thus it is said. Second, the establishment of the manner of entering the path of liberation: All that is said about practicing generation and completion stages in all the common paths does not go beyond the nature of mental speculation, therefore it should be abandoned here. As it says in the Rangshar: The yogi of signs and words clings to words and uses words. If one ignorantly relies on words, I have not said that it will liberate. The yogi who relies on signs relies on signs himself, and through actions flatters others. Bound by his own thoughts, I have not said that it will liberate. The yogi who perishes afterwards dwells on the ground of faith, doing the actions of faith, and perishes on the first ground with hope. I have not said that it will liberate. The yogi who is certain of his own nature practices the establishment of words without discrimination, possessing the nature and essence of non-discrimination. I have not said that it will liberate. The yogi of appearance and mind says that everything arises from my mind. If one realizes the nature of mind, what is there to do? Those who proclaim this everywhere, I have not said that they will liberate. The yogi who enters into action wants to accomplish meaning in action. Those who are bound by great actions, first generate the mind.

Do, do. From then on, all things, all are done and accomplished. That is not what I call liberation. The yoga of cause is to transform the cause itself into the path, relying on the cause, looking at the cause, the cause itself manifests, that is not what I call liberation. The yoga of condition is to seek the true demon through action, holding onto dissimilar kinds, that is not what I call liberation. The yoga of ultimate fruit is to carry realization onto the path, not dwelling on the ground and the path, seeing one's own nature, it is considered true liberation. The yoga of the true demon is, even having found one's own realization, when the appearance of the bardo is purified, seeing one's own true nature, from then on it is considered ultimate liberation. The yoga of ultimate liberation is, on the ground of finding certainty, finding and seeing one's own nature, it is considered to truly abide on the ground. The yoga of completing what has been done is, the primordial purity, the Great Buddha, it is said that one cannot depart from it. From that Great Perfection of Yoga, it is said that one cannot practice on the ground, it is said that one cannot walk on the path. Thus it is said. The first eight do not liberate because of action and effort, the latter four liberate because they abandon the elaboration of effort and exertion on the path, and therefore they believe in liberation in the Great Perfection of Yoga of primordial abiding self-liberation. Some say, if the impurities of the realm cannot be purified by taking and discarding, then how can one be liberated by such a path? The nature of wisdom is originally free from taking and discarding and primordially liberated, or immediately liberated, or self-liberated, or abiding liberated, or completely liberated Dharma-nature, because it does not transcend these, therefore, that which is covered by sudden impurities is removed by the oral instructions of the lama, and merely from the beginning of becoming accustomed to recognizing the Dharma-nature as it is, other modifications and adulterations cannot liberate, but instead become mistakes and losses, like getting off a horse and riding a donkey. If some small-minded people are afraid of the profound meaning of the supreme secret, then the great accomplished master Saraha also said: The mind-nature that cuts off the root is like the sky, because there is no meditation, do not think about it, do not defile ordinary innate wisdom with false objects, the naturally pure mind does not need to be modified, not grasping, not abandoning, self-
