was sent away. Generally speaking, followers of externalist doctrines might come to Tibet unnoticed, but those with the intellectual strength to directly oppose the Buddha's teachings will not appear. This person came to Mu-srad and placed this vajra dagger as the main object of veneration in the temple. Later, it gradually became corrupted, and now there is a saying that the tradition of "seeing the yellow dagger" has arisen. Now, let's talk about the upper and lower treasure troves. In the *Extensive Play Sutra*, it says: the treasure of recollection without expression, the treasure of wisdom that greatly opens intelligence, the treasure of realization that understands all the determinations of all the sutras, the treasure of dharani that holds all that is heard, the treasure of eloquence that satisfies all sentient beings with good speech, the treasure of dharma that completely protects the sacred dharma, the mind of bodhichitta that does not cut off the lineage of the Three Jewels, and the treasure of practice that attains accomplishment in the unborn dharma, these eight great treasures will be obtained. The place where it is said that this is the case is originally an emanation body that has become the sacred realm of activity of enlightened wisdom. Even in mere appearance, for one's own benefit, one has ascended to the state of great supreme accomplishment, and by having power over killing and saving, and over the ocean-like branches of miraculous powers, one dwells on the ground of the great lord of yoga. For the benefit of others, the unsurpassed activities of the teachings and the skillful methods of taming the ocean-like realms of sentient beings are what we believe in these great emanation bodies. Some people slander all aspects of what is called "treasure," which is like plowing the tongue with five hundred plows. As for all aspects of what is called "treasure," we do not engage in either affirmation or negation, as it says in the *Ornament Sutra*: If one is ignorant of form due to ignorance, what need is there to mention the dharma of doubt? And as it says in *Rangsa*: If it is virtue, then it is good; doing evil is also looking at evil. This is because the results of good and evil are not mixed up. However, even if something is determined to be contrary to the dharma in every way, one should not think that the entire Nyingma teachings have declined because of it. For example, the monk Lhachenpo and the holder of the scriptures, the youth Dedud,

covered, as if listening to the Tathagata's scriptures. Therefore, what is not Dharma but is disguised as Dharma, or what is not a treasure but is disguised as a treasure, should be classified into one category. However, to denigrate the great tantric scriptures, whose meaning and content are not mistaken, and which are infallible in achieving results, as "earth Dharma" and "stone Dharma" is to become the work of demons. As the Bhagavan said, "A Bodhisattva who praises himself and disparages others is corrupted by demons and is considered to be of little intelligence and foolish." Therefore. Thereafter, in order for the divine king Trisong Detsen to once again propagate his own instructions, the lord Nyawa Nyima Ozer, incarnated, was born in the place called Tamshul in Lhodrak (ལྷོ་བྲག, Lhozak, located in present-day Shannan City, Tibet), the father being Nyangton Chokhor and the mother being Padma Detzal, in the Wood Dragon year. From a young age, he had inconceivable and wonderful deeds, personally seeing the four classes of dakinis, the venerable Tara, the Great Compassionate One, Padmasambhava, etc., and urging them to practice the Dharma. He heard many of his own lineage teachings. At the age of thirteen, he accomplished the Great Compassionate One and Vajrakilaya, leaving hand and footprints on the Dropu Rock, and clearly felt the neighing of a horse with a copper kila. The wisdom dakini prophesied that the rock would become a five-pronged vajra and prophesied the Smavo Ri (སྨྲ་བོའི་རི།). From the Tamer Gyalsay, Khambu Yangle, Guru Trowo, etc., he heard many new and old teachings, and in particular, from the Siddha Dangdrup, he perfected the empowerments and transmissions of Avalokiteśvara and the Kagyé Kama. While practicing on Smavo Ri, he heard a voice saying, "Child, look over there!" Looking over, there was a yogi adorned with bone ornaments. After inviting him inside and exchanging greetings, the man said, "I am a sky yogi, named Wangchuk Dorje. Child, you have a connection with this. Padmasambhava protects you with empowerments and transmissions. Now all the profound secret mantra teachings will be opened by the dakinis. Prayers will be answered quickly." After saying this, he handed over the catalog, yang-byang, and key instructions, and then disappeared like a rainbow. Drakmon Sherab and Ra Shag Terton also delivered catalogs. In particular, the incarnation of the dakini Yeshe Tsogyal delivered the dakini's
