He became a chariot of fragrance, spreading scent and attracting (beings). This great man, due to his immense merit, even when going to the city for alms every day, received countless kinds of food. He supported two hundred and fifty meditators, a considerable number of reciters, and five hundred monks, keeping them free from worries. He excelled in poetic composition, being the best among them, so the words and meanings of his treatises were extremely exquisite, even capable of satisfying the master Dharmakirti. Because of him, the deeds of the Tathagata (Buddha) were combined with great poetry. Moreover, he accomplished the great task of propagating the Dharma with excellent commentaries and many extraordinary treatises, including the essential instructions for cultivating the mind of enlightenment, and not just praising the places of hearing and debate.

It was left without comment. Although this scholar was a Mahayana Buddhist, he did not adhere solely to that. He benefited everyone equally, so even the Shravakas were pleased. All Buddhists greatly revered him, and his fame was very great. It is said that this person was initially contemporary with the son of King Moon-hidden, named Heart Essence Bindu, who was born in the land of Gora. When his great-nephew Buddhadharma Chandra ruled the kingdom, the Turkic army destroyed Magadha. The glorious Nalanda also suffered great damage. When Dharmachandra's uncle, who had become the king Buddha-protected, passed away, he sent some Sutra scholars to China. He raised the victory banner over the king of the Taziks and prophesied to most of the lands under the sun and in the west. He restored all the Buddhist sites that had previously been damaged and made the teachings flourish, with about forty-four lineages existing. In Nalanda, two heretical beggars arrived. Some undisciplined monks threw washing water at them, squeezed them between the door frames, and set fierce dogs on them. The two became very angry. One vowed to cast a curse, and the other vowed to practice the sun. So they entered the earth and practiced for nine years without success. When they intended to come out, their friend said: Now there is famine everywhere, and I have provided for you with so much joy. If you come out before the mantra is accomplished, I will cut off your head. Saying this, he sharpened a sharp knife. The man was afraid and practiced for another three years, finally achieving success, and then began to perform a fire offering. Merely by reciting mantras from the burning ashes and scattering them, the fire ignited on its own. Eighty-four Buddhist temples were burned. In particular, the great temple of glorious Nalanda, where all the Mahayana teachings were housed, the Ratna Sagara, Ratna Dadhhi, and Ratna Randaka, all three were burned. It is said that Ratna Dadhhi had nine stories, and from some of the books on the top floor, a great stream of water flowed down, extinguishing some of the burning flames, so some books were not burned and were known as the treasury of the Vidyadharas. The two heretics, fearing the king's punishment, fled to a place called Hasama in the north.

Even if they fled there, they would be burned to death by the power of their sins. Similarly, when the teacher Nagarjuna was engaged in benefiting beings in the southern region, the religion of the heretics began to arise. When he was residing on Mount Palawa, a minister of King Nemo Chandra named Gyalshé started a rebellion and took control of the kingdom himself. The sound of the ghanta being struck at Nalanda was said to be "Phat Taya" (Tibetan: ཕཊ་ཊཱ་ཡ་, Sanskrit Devanagari: phat taya, Sanskrit Romanization: phaṭ ṭā ya, Chinese literal meaning: Phat Taya). The Brahmin grammarians understood this as the sound of "crushing the heads of the evil heretics," and so the heretics, including the Brahmin Gyalwa Shé, waged war. Many monasteries from the central region to Jalandhara were burned down. Many monks, and even some learned ones, were killed. In short, until Nagarjuna was upholding the Dharma in the central region, the construction of temples and other activities increased, and so it flourished. But from the time he began to engage in benefiting beings in the southern region, the beginning of decline began. The manifest Dharma suffered three times of hostility, and the general and specific scriptures of the Mahayana were divided into fifteen parts, nine of which were burned by fire, four were destroyed by war, and one naturally disappeared, so it is said that only one part remained. Not only because of this reason, various sutras and tantras came from remote regions, or were guarded by the vidyadharas who were unknown in the border regions as their own life force or the life of the letters, and so they also spread to Tibet and other places. Later, seeing some categories of Dharma in small monasteries, they would assert whether or not there was a prototype of it in India, and thus begin to abandon the Dharma, which is meaningless. Because there is a saying that the manifest Dharma suffered hostility, it is reasonable to say so, but if it is thought that this does not apply to the tantras, then Pungzang said, "The secret mantra is taught in the form of sutras, please listen!" This statement shows that the tantras of the vidyadharas are placed in the fourth collection of scriptures, and this can also be understood. Even without considering this, then, in the pavilion called "Ratna Dhadha" (藏文:རཏྣ་ད་དྷ་), the scriptures were not burned by the power of the water flow, and it is believed that it contains the five inner tantras and the Guhyasamaja, so how can this be denied? In general, it is difficult to prove with logic that the time when the secret mantras became widespread is now. But not long after the early Mahayana Dharma flourished, many vidyadharas emerged
