Regarding me and so on, many things. From the Sakya Lama Dampa, I received the great Bodhicitta and the profound teachings of the Sakya school such as Lamdre (Path and Fruit). For this, I also offered a peaceful letter, a precious golden offering tree, which presents the three aspects of base, path, and fruit. From Shukseb Riwawa Yonton Dorje, a disciple of the famed three lineages of the Pacification Lineage—Ma, So, and Kam—I received the Three Cycles of Doha, the Three Cycles of Mountain Dharma, the Hundred Roots of Interdependence, and so on. In short, I comprehended in my heart most of the well-known siddha's tenets within the snowy mountains, and my mind was naturally endowed with unobstructed wisdom in explanation, debate, and composition. I achieved self-awakening in all aspects, including the science of terminology, the scriptures of Sutra and Tantra, and the instructions of the oral tradition. Thus, these great beings, having subdued their minds through the ultimate practice of hearing and contemplation, transformed their minds into the lotus throne of omniscient wisdom. With immeasurable renunciation and disillusionment towards the nature of samsara, they resolved to seek only solitary forests and remote places, praised by all the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas of the past. Just as the Bhagavan saw the four causes of renunciation, in the monastery, due to the unfair conduct of the Khampa monks, a strong sense of renunciation arose in his heart, and he was close to passing away through the conduct of a renunciant. Although the Khenpos and teachers, finding the wisdom of this holy being rare and unbearable, strongly dissuaded him, their dissuasion was unsuccessful because the merit of sentient beings and the great power of altruistic activities had not yet expired. As he was about to depart, he met a wise monk near the stupa of Ngok Lotsawa Chenpo. He also dissuaded him and expressed his sorrow, so he explained the situation. He also felt sorry for the Khampa Sangha and urged, 'Since you are going anyway, we have no obstacles in writing, we should leave some bad names for the Khampas.' So, in a joking manner, he wrote something on a piece of paper the size of a 'bre' (a unit of measurement, equivalent to half a bushel), had him take it, and stick it on the throne of the Dharma hall, but the Khampas discovered it and did not allow others to see it. This list of thirty accusations, beginning with 'Like a Rakshasa wandering in the land of Kalinga,' spread throughout the entire region.

After that, wandering in indefinite places and focusing solely on practice, while residing in the dark retreat of Gyamai Chokla cave for five months, he heard the sound of cymbals accompanied by singing. When he tried to see clearly, a vision appeared: a sixteen-year-old woman adorned with silk brocade and gold and turquoise ornaments, riding a horse decorated with chain mail and bells, her face covered with a golden net. He grabbed her robe and pleaded, "Please, Holy Mother, have mercy on me." The woman took off a precious headdress and offered it to the Omniscient One She said, "From now on, I will always bless you and grant you accomplishments." He remained for a long time in the samadhi of bliss, clarity, and non-discrimination. He created the auspicious connection to encounter the teachings of the Great Perfection. Then, at the age of twenty-nine, in the spring, he went to Samye Monastery (བསམ་ཡས་,built in 767 AD), entrusting himself to the venerable Lama Kumaradza, who was residing in the Phun of Kyim in Yartö. On the way, he met Yakde Panchen, who urged him to go to see the Karmapa, but he did not listen and continued on. He met the Vidyadhara residing in the Phun of Kyim in Yartö, along with about seventy students. He dreamed that a strange bird, claiming to be the mother and a divine bird, came with a large flock of small birds and carried away all his books. The master said, "This foretells that a lineage holder will appear." He was very pleased. Because there was no religious tax to pay there, he felt immeasurably sad. Because he had to pay the religious tax and had no choice but to leave the lama, he felt ashamed to leave during the day. He thought, "Tomorrow morning, as soon as it dawns, I must reach the foot of this place." The lama, knowing this through his clairvoyance, sent two monks who said, "Your religious tax has been taken care of by us here, do not worry." He was very happy. Because that Vidyadhara, in order to protect and encourage his students, did not settle down, that spring he moved from one empty place to another, moving nine times. It seemed that once he had stayed in one place for a long time, he had to move, so he had neither clothes nor food. Because the weather and the snowy mountains were very cold, his body and mind felt immeasurably exhausted. He only had three bre of tsampa and twenty-one mercury pills.
