Having composed well both the 'Baba Kun-nas btus' and the 'mDo Kun-nas btus,' although he had reached the pinnacle of scholarship, in front of others, he would eat five large portions of food. He would sleep day and night, and not practice any of the three, hearing, thinking, and meditating, remaining like a fool. The monks said, "This third type of person who wastes offerings of faith should be expelled." Therefore, they decided, "Let us recite the sutras in turn and make him leave on his own." So, in the month of miracles, they urged him to come and recite during the rotation of scriptures. However, the Acharya declined several times, saying, "We know nothing." But the Panditas decided to test his knowledge, so they urged him repeatedly, and finally he agreed. At that time, most of the people gathered to humiliate him, and some gathered in a place of doubt. In the midst of the assembly, a large throne was set up. At that time, the Acharya himself came and sat on the throne without hesitation, and said, "Shall I recite a sutra that has already appeared, or shall I recite one that has never been heard before?" Everyone was eager to test him, so they urged him to recite one that had never been heard before. At that time, he taught 'Entering the Bodhisattva's Way of Life,' and at the sentence, "When things and non-things do not remain before the mind," his body rose into the sky and merged into space. Although his body had disappeared, the sound of the Dharma, accompanied by the voice of Brahma, did not cease until the scripture was completed. At that time, everyone exclaimed in unison, "This noble person is of inexhaustible wisdom!" Among the Panditas, those who had obtained Dharani remembered it. The Kashmiris and others obtained more than a thousand verses, and the words of praise were self-composed. The so-called people of the Middle Land, the Easterners, only obtained seven hundred verses, and the chapters on Confession and Wisdom were missing. The words of praise were supplemented with the meaning of Madhyamaka. The people of the Middle Land said that the words of praise and the vow to compose were missing, or that they obtained a thousand verses by relying on the power of the subsequent mantra. In the assembly, doubts arose about the situation. After that, hearing that he had gone to the city of Kalinga in Telangana and was staying there, three Panditas went and asked him to go to Nalanda.

Not given. When asked what the three ways of recording mantras were, he replied that it was according to what the people of the central region recited. When asked what he meant by referring to the Compendium of Trainings and the Compendium of Sutras, he replied that there was a scripture written in fine Pandit script on bark in the window of the chamber, and told them to fetch it. In that place, there was a monastery connected to a forest, where (the teacher) lived with about five hundred monks, and he miraculously multiplied the forest animals that came to the chamber without any purpose. The monks saw the animals enter the teacher's chamber, but did not see them come out, and the monks also knew that the number of animals was decreasing. There, when they looked in through the window, they saw the teacher eating meat, and the monks began to object. At that time, the animals were revived, became strong, and came out of the chamber and went into the depths of the forest. Later, (the teacher) also abandoned the signs of a renunciant and went to a practice of non-acceptance and non-rejection. Once, at a doorway, a person accidentally splashed some droplets of foot-washing water on the teacher's feet, and the droplets boiled as if they had touched red-hot iron, and that person saw it. Later, in the territory of the king of Bati Bihāra, a heretical pandita named "Joyful Giver" came and debated internal and external doctrines, and demanded a contest of power and miracles. The other practitioners were frightened. At that time, the person who had seen the foot-washing incident remembered it, and thought, "I will definitely be able to prevent this debate," and went to see the teacher. He requested to compete with the heretics in power, and the teacher agreed, and informed the king of that place. The king erected a platform in the center of a large gathering of people, and had (the teacher) and the heretics debate internal and external doctrines, and the teacher won. At that time, the heretics instantly drew a huge mandala of dust particles in the sky, and the teacher entered the samadhi of the wind of annihilation, and the mandala and the heretics were scattered by the strong wind and went to the other side of a river. He greatly propagated the Dharma, and that place was then known as the place where the heretics were defeated.
