Therefore, those who have correctly created roots of virtue should also dedicate them with great wisdom. As stated in the Avatamsaka Sutra: "Whatever exists in the ten directions of the world, by repeatedly accumulating those virtues, with the mind of benefiting all beings and the mind of happiness, completely dedicate those wise sages." This has been shown. Secondly, these roots of virtue should only be dedicated to the Buddha as the object of dedication, and not to others. It is not good to dedicate them for the sake of Brahma, Indra, a thousand-spoked wheel-turning king, local petty kings, and the happiness and fruits of perfect retinues and enjoyments, because these are temporary pleasures that rely on the causes of samsara and cannot transcend the fruits of suffering. Virtue is accumulated solely for the sake of ultimate aspirations. In this way, it is also not appropriate to dedicate solely to the state of hearers or solitary realizers, thinking only of oneself being free from suffering, because they only focus on their own peace, which hinders the attainment of perfect enlightenment for the benefit of others. Therefore, a qualified dedication is, as stated in the Royal Sutra: "All roots of virtue, except for omniscience, should not be dedicated to the state of hearers or solitary realizers." This is what it says. The third part has two aspects: abandoning the unfavorable aspects of dedication and cultivating the favorable aspects. The first point is: wherever merit is performed, even if a firm vow to dedicate has been made, if one clings to the reality of the three spheres (agent, object, and action) and is not supported by non-conceptual wisdom, then a poisoned dedication, which is unacceptable, will arise. As stated in the Eight Thousand Verse Prajnaparamita Sutra: "For those who have conceptual clinging, there is no dedication. Why? Because clinging is poisonous." Therefore, clinging to and being attached to things, thoughts, and objects as truly real is the obscuration of knowledge, characterized by the three spheres of conceptualization. As stated by Lord Maitreya: "Whatever is the conceptualization of the three spheres, that is considered the obscuration of knowledge." The second point is: with skillful means, the mind of enlightenment, and wisdom of selflessness.

Dedication that is fully grasped by view is a dedication that possesses four kinds of goodness. As it is said: Good object and teacher, good method and renunciation, good conduct, the very nature, is said to be a true aspiration. Thus it is. Among them, the method is to be grasped by the sacred mind of enlightenment, that is, all the virtues of how to accomplish are shared with all sentient beings equal to the end of the sky, and are inseparable from the desire to seek the state of perfect omniscience. Shanti Deva said: Whether direct or indirect, do not practice other than for the benefit of sentient beings. For the sake of sentient beings alone, dedicate everything to enlightenment. Thus it is. The fruit of merit that is fully grasped by such a mind of enlightenment is never exhausted, and because it increases by nature, it is superior to all other virtues. As it is said in the Bodhisattvacharyavatara: All other virtues are like a plantain tree, the fruit is exhausted by enjoyment. The tree of the mind of enlightenment is always bearing fruit, inexhaustible and increasing. And, because it is aimed at the immeasurable realm of sentient beings, merit is also immeasurable. As it is said in the Ratnavali: The realm of sentient beings is immeasurable, and the desire to benefit is the same. Thus it is. All of these are grasped by the view of wisdom without self, so in equanimity, the three spheres are not distinguished, and in the subsequent attainment, the dedication of knowing the nature of phenomena like illusion and dream becomes the unerring path to enlightenment. The Sutra Collection says: If you know that this Dharma is extinguished and exhausted, and that where it is dedicated is also exhausted, if you know that you never dedicate to the Dharma of Dharma, then you have dedicated by knowing it well. Thus it is said, and dedicating in such a way is also said in the Bodhisattvacharyavatara: Buddhas and Bodhisattvas, all-pervading and unobstructed, are fully endowed with sight. Before all of them, I always abide. Because the power of truth does not mix cause and effect and is not deceptive, inviting from all directions and not looking at the labor, therefore, living in the boundless ocean of realms in the ten directions
