The realms to be tamed by the body are the hundred millionfold trichiliocosm and so on. With self-born wisdom and compassion, the six realms are tamed. As it is said, the fields to be tamed by the incarnate body are the impure trichiliocosm, a hundred millionfold, countless in number. In such realms, the realms to be tamed, the means of taming, their respective antidotes, and the methods of taming are never forgotten. Therefore, sentient beings in the lower realms are led to higher realms, and those in higher realms are led to liberation and omniscience. The methods of doing so are also explained in the Uttaratantra by nine similes such as the sound of Indra's drum. Just as one has been led to the path without error, one engages in benefiting others. Although one acts in this way, both the sentient beings to be tamed and the Buddha who tames them are, in reality, without inherent existence, like a dream. Whoever sees a Buddha in a dream, even though the Dharma of emanation is taught as in a dream, is without essence and without inherent existence. One should know that one is accumulating selflessness and emptiness. As it is said in the profound sutras, in the play of samsara and nirvana, which are like dreams, even though the essence of the Buddhas who appear is pure, they appear in the form of those to be tamed. Therefore, the emanation of impure compassion is constant as long as one follows samsara. Moreover, with regard to those to be tamed, the essence of the Sugata-garbha is stained by adventitious defilements, and on the objects, meanings, and mind, due to habitual tendencies, the appearance of grasping and being grasped arises. The various kinds of happiness and suffering in the places of samsara that appear are also the nature of illusory appearances that are without existence, and from the play of dreams, there is not even a particle of true establishment. One abides in mindfulness and recollection. Various bodies and enjoyments, and the very nature of happiness and suffering, are emanated by the mind and created by the mind. There is nothing whatsoever other than the mind. For example, it is just like a dream. So it is. Likewise, with regard to the tamer, due to being free from all defilements, the blessings of the Buddhas who know their own nature, the aspirations of each sentient being, and the compassion of the three kayas of the clear space within the appearance of virtuous actions, manifest outwardly as the two pure form kayas of wisdom activity, and especially for ordinary beings, the vast activity of the supreme emanation body is clearly visible without obscuration.

Lawa Shakya Senge and others manifestly work for the benefit of sentient beings, yet this is not inherently established, like seeing a Buddha in a dream. The Noble "Heap of Jewels Sutra" states: 'To beings who are like dreams, I teach the Dharma by emanating as if in a dream. There is no essence, no duality of nature. It is proper to accumulate selflessness and emptiness.' Therefore, the nature of samsara is an arrangement of illusory appearances, and the appearance of the container and its contents is of a false nature. Similarly, the emanation body of the Buddha who tames beings, although its essence does not move from the pure two-fold Dharmakaya, appears as a reflection of form, merely as a delusion of sentient beings, as if gathered by the truth of suffering. Both are non-existent, yet appear like dream and illusory horses and elephants. The Intermediate Mother Sutra states: 'Subhuti, all phenomena are like dreams, like illusions. Nirvana is also like a dream, like an illusion.' Thus, both those to be tamed and the one who tames, while not moving from the same sphere, appear as the transformations of samsara and nirvana due to the difference between being stained and liberated. To arrive at the state of understanding this reality is called a person who sees the suchness. The Noble "Sutra of All Phenomena Being Unchanging" states: 'There is no Buddha, no Dharma, and no Sangha. Whoever knows this is wise. The nature of sentient beings is said to be enlightenment itself. The nature of enlightenment is all sentient beings. Sentient beings and enlightenment are not two. Whoever knows this becomes the supreme person.' Various accomplishments are the emanations of that very essence and various activities, arising from both intrinsic nature and contrived actions. Sculptures, paintings, pavilions and mansions, gardens and groves, cities emanated in desolate lands, lotuses, wish-fulfilling trees, and wish-fulfilling jewels, boats, bridges, vehicles, food, clothing, etc., appear as inanimate objects. In times of great famine, he emanates as a great fisherman; in the suffering of disease, as a beneficial insect; in the land of Rakshasas, as one who knows, Ha!; in impure mud, as a golden bee, etc. Various emanations are the basis of happiness in every way, showing no discrimination and no wavering. Through great meaning, he dwells near to glory. Thus it is said in the sutras.
