Since they lack skillful means, wisdom, and samadhi, they have no liberation. Those who enter mantras that appear to be reasoning and consider cause and effect to be liberation are completely controlled by consciousness-only and merely cling to the self-nature of attachment. Very few truly walk the path. Why is that? For example, some consider the self-extinguishing spark of intense anger arising in the mind to be the path. If that were the case, then even a parricidal son with autonomous consciousness would not be tainted by karma, and so-called liberation would be merely a name. Some measure it through logic and consider it to be the path. If that is the case, then it is no different from the Vehicle of Reasoning, similar to contemplating afflictions that correspond to the root of virtue, intending to benefit sentient beings. Some cultivate loving-kindness as an antidote to anger and consider it to be both the antidote and what is to be abandoned. If that is the case, then the antidote is the path, not the afflictions being taken as the path. Some consider the consciousness that follows the cessation of anger, like exhaustion, to be the path. If that is the case, then afflictions and wisdom are different. Therefore, their nature, at the time of affliction, possesses some aspect of either what is to be abandoned or the antidote, so it is not a path established by its own entity, but is similar to a path with a severed umbilical cord. After the severance, it is connected by the junction of sharp analysis, merely obstructing the fruit of separation and the true antidote path. So, what should it be like? Because the nature of knowable things does not establish the self-nature of afflictions, when desire and so on arise, they manifest as the dharmata of emptiness, so there is also no self-extinguishing. For this, the connection measured by logic is also not established. The elaboration of cultivating the antidote to what is to be abandoned is naturally pacified. If one knows that the state where each of their own natures has not ceased is the dharmata, then because the nature of approaching afflictions is purified, it cannot perform the act of accumulating karma. Moreover, the imprints that rely on it will not gather, so there is nothing to abandon. The Vajra Sutra says: "All afflictions are like illusions, empty in nature. Knowing their impermanent nature, it is called liberation." Also, the Sutra of the Wheel of Non-Returning says: "Ignorance is like the sky, all phenomena are without characteristics." So it is said.

There is no greed, no hatred, no pride, and no jealousy. Illusion is also without inherent existence. Existence and non-existence are not perceived, and it is free from support. Thus it is said. Even if one does not fully realize this, one does not abandon it by grasping the means. Just as the calculation of alchemy can turn copper into gold, one relies on the special expedient secret instruction that is skilled in the aspect of the object of focus, so that one's own five wisdoms of self-nature can be purified. As it is said in the Ocean: The path of afflictions is great purification. The desired qualities of the means are the best of ornaments. By enjoying everything, one quickly transforms into the glorious Heruka. And as it is said in the Condensed Beginning: For those who are endowed with great means, afflictions transform into limbs of enlightenment. Thus it is said. Not abandoning because of knowing as body and wisdom: In the path of mantra, the continuous mind of each individual spontaneously accomplishes as body and wisdom. Therefore, when the five afflictions appear, one realizes them as the nature of the five families and does not abandon them. As it is said in the Twenty-Eight Root Vows: Jealousy and the like, the five afflictions, are inherently the nature of the five families. Thus it is said. In short, the Hearers abandon, the Solitary Realizers obstruct, the Bodhisattvas train in accordance with the roots of virtue, and the outer mantra practitioners transform. In this stage of the Unsurpassed Vehicle, the view of the Great Equality of Dharma and the skill in the means of meditation are combined. Whatever is the nature of affliction is sealed with the Dharma nature of emptiness of its own essence, so that it does not remain in its own aspect but is transformed into the path. As it is said in the Extensive Sutra: Unobstructed appearance is the means, and non-inherent existence is wisdom. And as it is said in the General Sutra: The nature that appears as afflictions like poison appears as the embodiment of the five wisdoms of liberation. Thus it is said. Third, the five to be accepted are: feces, urine, flesh, blood, and semen. For the five to be accepted, purity and impurity are free from conceptualization. As it is said in the Eight Fascicles: Feces, urine, flesh, and blood, and this Bodhicitta, are accepted as the main ones in order to reverse the conceptualization of sentient beings. Thus it is said, because of reversing conceptualization, it becomes the Dharma nature itself, and one accomplishes the five Buddhas with one's own essence, and with power eliminates diseases, and with blessings accomplishes siddhis, therefore it is a special substance with special functions and is accepted. As it is said in the Clear Illumination: Eliminates the five diseases,
