As I have said, a yogi should always practice. If in the realm of the Guru, teaching the Dharma, bestowing empowerments, consecrations, and meditation, practices, etc., should not be done without permission. In short, whatever actions are done by body, speech, and mind, should not be done even a little without asking the Guru and without permission. Furthermore, any virtuous deed should be started after asking the Guru. In all yogic conduct, one should not be separated from the supreme Guru. Whenever one eats food at any of the three times, one should offer the best of the cut-off third portion to the supreme Guru. To the Guru Vajradhara, even if one does not desire wealth and precious jewels, one should still offer them. One should dedicate and offer the best of everything to the supreme Guru. In short, all my thoughts should be pure and without pretense, and should be focused on the Guru. All excellent qualities will be accomplished. Thus it is. Therefore, these twenty-seven root vows are not to be transgressed, and should be kept as vows. From the aspect of being seized by method, in order to determine whether or not it can benefit others, one should train in both permission and prohibition, this is the way to show the branch vows. The variability of method, twenty-five branches: taking what is not given, lying, jesting words. The five to be trained are practiced by knowing permission and prohibition. As it is said in the 'Clear Illumination': Five to be practiced and five not to be abandoned, accepting and accomplishing, likewise four, five to be known, explaining whether they are in harmony or not. These five sets of five that are spoken of are like this: all the teachings of the unsurpassed secret mantra, from the very beginning, in the great mandala of the three vajras of all the Tathagatas, there is no one who does not attain Buddhahood, therefore all of samsara and nirvana are sealed with the handprint of Samantabhadra, these are the vows of those who are certain. If one understands in this way, then all dharmas are equally merged into the pure land of Samantabhadra, therefore no faults arise in oneself, and there is also great benefit to others, and one has the authority to practice the vow that is inseparable between what is to be abandoned and what is to be taken, as it is in the literal sense, and by this one does not create both white and black karma and karmic results. Until one understands in this way, one should only keep mindfulness close to the hidden meaning that will be explained below, such as killing the karma wind in the central channel. Among these, the first five to be practiced are said in the tantra:

Through the blessings of Yogaḍākinī, and the words of falsehood and promises, one should know in specific situations by grasping the supreme means. As it is said in the Compendium Sutra: "You should kill living beings, you should also speak lies, you should take what is not given, and you should also rely on women. Through these Vajrayāna paths, all sentient beings will be liberated." Secondly, the five that are not abandoned: the five afflictions of desire, hatred, ignorance. Not abandoning the five is contrary to the Svātantrika school. As it is said in the Clear Explanation: "The five true poisons, the five false poisons." Because realizing the equality of saṃsāra and nirvāṇa without differentiation is ignorance; generating desire with compassion for sentient beings who have not realized this; using hatred to save those with wrong perceptions; generating pride with the view of realizing equality where the ego has not died; and jealousy where the view and conduct of dualistic grasping cannot be integrated into the realm of dharmatā. If these five are abandoned, it is not close to the true meaning, therefore they are called the five true poisons, which is a hidden meaning. As it is said in the Extensive Explanation: "Conceptual thought itself is self-arisen wisdom; conceptual thought is unmoving, wisdom is inexpressible." The five false poisons are: the general characteristics are impermanence, suffering, selflessness, lack of control, and emptiness. The specific characteristics are: attachment and craving for external objects and internal sentient beings is desire; always feeling tormented is hatred; being arrogant and not gentle is pride; being unable to bear the prosperity and perfection of others is jealousy. If these are abandoned, the nature of wisdom will not have the self-nature of afflictions, thus deviating from the self-nature and falling into the path of Śrāvakas and Pratyekabuddhas. Therefore, in the Explanation of Means it is said: "Ignorance, hatred, and pride, desire and great jealousy, are vows without protection, now they are Vajra vows." And in its commentary, the Second Buddha, Padmasambhava, said: "Ignorance is the vow of Vairocana, why? Because ignorance cannot be abandoned, wisdom cannot be cultivated, because in the realm of Dharma they are of one taste." Although this is so, many ignorant people are now confused about the nature of Tantra. Devotion and bodhicitta.
