Like an arrow, prostrate and make offerings to the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas, listen to the Dharma, and so on. Moreover, those Buddha-fields are not located in any particular direction, but wherever they are, they are the self-appearing forms of the power of thought that has become familiar. Therefore, whether it is one's own dwelling or the five letters on the lotus petals of the throat, one can focus on them, because the appearances of samsara and nirvana are all created by the mind. In short, after mastering dream yoga, there is no point in doing meaningless trivialities, because the necessity of this instruction lies in manifesting the illusory body in the bardo, so waking and dreaming help each other. Combine with the illusory body, meditate on the deity's illusory body, which is merely wind and mind, and then focus on letting it dissolve into light and arise. In this way, the way of arising as the Sambhogakaya in the bardo will be included in the practice, and temporarily one will also recognize that appearances are mind, thereby unconsciously eliminating attachment to the truth of illusory appearances. The fourth is the instruction of clear light: the preliminary dharmas are mostly similar to dream yoga. In addition, massage the body, nourish the body, eat nutritious food, do not lose Bodhicitta, the body should be seated upright, the time should be at dawn, in a light sleep, the intention is the recollection before sleep, and the key point of the place is the support for visualization in the heart. First generate Bodhicitta, then visualize the Guru Father and Mother in the heart, and pray. In the center of the heart chakra where the deity of the completion stage appears like an illusion, visualize a clear blue Hūṃ syllable (Tibetan: ཧཱུྃ, Devanagari: हूँ, Romanized Sanskrit: hūṃ, Chinese literal meaning: 吽), focus on it with one mind, and practice the union of winds. Then, through the Samatha of the gathering stage or the subsequent breaking stage, gather and abide in the state where even Nada (Sanskrit: nada) cannot be discerned, together with the union of winds. Then, in an instant, make it clear as before. By practicing in this way when awake, the accumulation of wind in the heart can be purified, so that the wind and mind easily gather there during sleep. In particular, due to the power of the wind dissolving into the central channel, one can abide in the clear light or co-emergent, which is the self-nature fruit of each of the four emptinesses or attachments. That is, entering the yoga of sleep, before falling asleep, focus with one mind on the seed syllable Hūṃ (Tibetan: ཧཱུྃ, Devanagari: हूँ, Romanized Sanskrit: hūṃ, Chinese literal meaning: 吽) in the heart, and gradually gather the wind and mind, thereby gradually arising.

The signs of the mother dissolving are the appearance of subtle signs such as smoke and mirages. Then, as one approaches sleep, the winds gather greatly, and consciousness dissolves into appearance. The cessation of coarse conceptualization is called emptiness, like the rising of moonlight in the clear autumn sky. Then, as one falls slightly asleep, the winds gather even more greatly, and all subtle conceptualizations cease. Appearance dissolves into increase, which is called very emptiness, like the appearance of the clear sky being struck by sunlight. Then, as one falls completely asleep, all the winds gather, and increase dissolves into near attainment, so most subtle conceptualizations cease, which is called great emptiness. It appears like the clear sky being covered by twilight. Then, all the winds dissolve, and one falls completely asleep. At the moment when all subtle and coarse conceptualizations cease, the wind and mind gather at the upward-pointing mouth of the central channel of merit, so it is called all emptiness, or near attainment dissolving into clear light, like the clear autumn morning sky free from the three causes of cloud formation. Thus, at each of the four emptinesses, after recognizing them with strong aspiration, the essence of the instruction is to not lose the state of the clear light nature of all emptiness. However, for ordinary people who are controlled by conceptual thoughts, other than those with excellent faculties and fortune, or those with meditative experience who have relied on solitude for a long time, only the state of the first and second emptinesses, or only the recognition of the latter two through the power of habituation, may occur. But immediately, the unmanifest nature of the alaya obscures the very nature of clear light, causing a loss of memory. And from that state, the alaya consciousness contaminates the mind consciousness, producing a dreamlike way of thinking. Regarding that meaning, it is said in the Root Tantra: "From the unmanifest alaya, the former scattering is mind, the latter arising is afflicted mind, the arising of the five gates is conceptualization." At that time, immediately upon waking up, strongly pray to the lama and shorten the duration of sleep. In the center of the body, like erecting a crystal pillar of the dharmata dhuti, transparent without inner or outer obscurations, above the heart, the red letter A (Tibetan: ཨ, Sanskrit Devanagari: अ, Sanskrit Romanization: a, Literal Chinese meaning: A) with the luminosity of a burning butter lamp, illuminates everything inside the body.
