There is no appearance whatsoever. Understand that all phenomena are like that. This is primarily about cultivating the recollection that expands upon all appearances of objects as being like illusions. Therein, there are two types of illusory bodies: impure illusory bodies in the general sense and pure illusory bodies, as well as three types of illusory bodies in the secret sense of wind and mind, which are to be meditated upon. The first aspect is how to use the three ordinary doors as illusions. Allow your own reflection to appear in a mirror, and then offer it ornaments, food, and so on, and see if it is happy. Then, strike, break, and show harsh expressions to see if it is unhappy. Since it has neither happiness nor unhappiness, train yourself in the same way and practice manifesting illusory appearances. Similarly, speak various gentle or harsh words arbitrarily to the reflection in the mirror, but do not generate attachment or aversion, and practice like an echo. Similarly, regarding the phenomena of mirages that shift and change, they appear like sunlight and gentle breezes on calm water, but they are not actually established. Similarly, consider that the various thoughts of grasping and being grasped that arise in the mind are merely appearances and are not established as true. Thus, since the three doors of body, speech, and mind, and the appearances of objects arise from interdependence, after becoming accustomed to diseases, spirits, and so on, and the eight worldly dharmas of gain and loss, praise and blame, etc., in a secluded place, make a firm vow in front of many people and learn to mix with circumstances. If attachment or aversion arises, then return to a secluded place and meditate as much as possible to overcome circumstances. Second, regarding the pure illusory body, there are the yoga of emanation form and the yoga of self-nature form. First, since the generation stage is the preliminary to the completion stage, it is best to first become proficient in the generation stage. If not, then if there is no stable habituation to the clear appearance of the deity's form as an illusion on the path of the completion stage itself, then there will be no certainty in the actual basis of the path of transforming into the sambhogakaya in the bardo. Therefore, for the time being, first rely on the method of the conventional body: allow the image of the yidam deity in various postures, whether painted or sculpted, to appear in a mirror, or from the mirror

In the second mirror, one gazes for a long time with focused awareness at the image that appears, and trains in abiding in the realm of thought. In the Five Stages, it says: Vajrasattva is excellently depicted; like an image appearing clearly in a stainless mirror. When such familiarity becomes extremely stable, one must train in the yoga of the nature of form. If one does not train in this way, merely the clear appearance of the body that is clarified by conceptual fabrication will not attain supreme accomplishment, nor will it transform into an illusory body as it is. Therefore, one trains in the appearance of the clear appearance of the generation stage with characteristics, which is apprehended by the view of superior seeing, that same familiarity that was previously familiarized only as the habitual tendency of conceptual fabrication, so that this very body of fruition is completely purified into the nature of a deity. And although it appears in the form of face and hands, it is actually emptiness-form without inherent existence, and the deity body of the Great Seal arises. As it says in the Kalachakra: Born from one's own mind, just like an image in a mirror, all of these are to be taught by the sons of the Victorious Ones and the masters of yoga. Then, for the purpose of enhancement, one visualizes that deity as being as large as filling the entire world, or as small as fitting into a mustard seed, or as one becoming many, or as many being gathered into one, and so forth. Furthermore, in all subsequent cognitions and subsequent attainments, one trains in skill by visualizing all appearances of the container and its contents appearing directly to the senses, and all their habitual tendencies appearing to the mind, as deities and palaces. In particular, the purpose of meditating on the illusory body of the deity at this time is to arise as the deity body that appears in the bardo from the luminosity of intrinsic awareness. Therefore, just as in the case of the illusory body in dreams, one trains in the three ways of cultivating the field by transforming the nature of the three poisons into the three bodies. Mixing hatred with the illusory body is the field cultivation of the nirmanakaya; mixing desire with power is the field cultivation of the sambhogakaya; mixing delusion with luminosity is the field cultivation of the dharmakaya. Having practiced these three, in the bardo, the mind-made body arises as a very subtle deity body that is separated from the physical body, and that itself enters into luminosity, and then arises as if it were an illusion, and so forth, which is similar to the way of practicing in dreams. The third is:
