It increases the essence of wisdom. By using it, it eliminates the diseases of accumulation. With un-leaking essence, it conquers the battlefield of samsara. The collection of realizations transforms into body and wisdom, therefore, conquering the battlefield of liberation from sorrow is also called the lower gate, the vajra path of space. Second, the detailed classification of the wind that relies on is: The moving wind has two flows, large and small. The large flow in one day and night has twenty-one thousand six hundred flows. The small flow is equal to the number of eighty-four thousand thoughts, and exists like a mount. Among them, the seventy-two thousand channels, through combination with the three, produce four changes, each of the winds has five thousand four hundred flows, in total, for a healthy adult without diseases, flowing twenty-one thousand six hundred times a day is the large flow wind, as the Root Tantra says: The winds that rely on the channels, have twenty thousand and one thousand, six hundred flows, are called the large flow wind. So it is said. For the elderly, due to the decline of the order of elements, fifty-eight times are incomplete. Generally, if too active, life is short; if sluggish, there will be suffering, etc. For young people whose elements are not fully developed, thirty-two times are incomplete, if the movement is long, life is long, the inside is less and gathers. If short, then the opposite. If strong, then it has merit; if weak, then there will be suffering. The small flow mainly refers to those with thoughts, equal to the number of eighty-four thousand afflictions, therefore becoming their mount, as the Illusion Tantra says: The others are eighty-four thousand. Like this. Furthermore, apart from flowing from the mouth and nose, the small wind flowing in the channels as the basis of thoughts and wisdom, the sum of the flows from the pulse separated from the enjoyment wheel, flows in one hundred and twenty-six thousand six hundred times, as the Root Tantra says: From the channels it is determined to flow, there are one hundred and twenty million, six thousand six hundred, from the channels it is determined to arise, it is called the small flow wind. So it is said. In order to distinguish from the perspective of action, the root wind is life-sustaining, fire-equal, and pervasive up- going, down-clearing five exist, the actions are in order, sustaining life.

It can generate heat. It strengthens the body, regulates the flow of breath, and facilitates activities such as walking, sitting, lying down, and excreting urine and feces. Among these, the male air ascends and resides in the upper body; the female air descends and resides in the lower body; and the neutral air is harmonizing. The inner air has the colors of the five elements and is the basis upon which the aggregates, realms, and sources abide. It is also the basis for the growth of the five poisons and the five wisdoms, like cause and effect. Among the five root airs, the life-sustaining air resides in the heart and maintains life. The fire-equalizing air resides in the stomach and produces heat. The pervasive air resides in the body and strengthens it. The upward-moving air resides in the upper body and facilitates breathing. The downward-clearing air resides in the lower body and facilitates activities such as walking, sitting, and excretion. Therefore, it is called the outer five airs. The inner air is the nature of the five elements: the earth air is yellow, water is white, fire is red, wind is green, and space air is blue. From the perspective of practice, their shapes are, in order, square, crescent, triangle, bow-like, and round. Relying on these, the inner aggregates, realms, and sources are able to abide. Moreover, in impure times, it is the basis for the growth of the five poisons; in the path, it accomplishes siddhis by relying on exhaustive samadhi; and in pure times, it is the basis for the growth of the five wisdoms. From the perspective of how they operate, fire air operates in summer, wind air operates in autumn, water air operates in winter, and earth air operates in spring. Therefore, one can practice their antidotes in reverse, or simply practice the all-pervasive space air, or practice the air that is suitable according to the condition of the illness. These can also be summarized into three airs: male, female, and neutral. The air that flows from the right nostril is the male air, the air that flows from the left nostril is the female air, and the air that flows in balance is the neutral air. Similarly, by determining the air of the five elements and combining it with the changes of the four seasons, men mainly practice the female air, women mainly practice the male air, and both mainly practice the neutral air, it is easy to accomplish the five airs of secret wisdom. Because these airs do not have gross parts, they have no color or shape. Among these, the key to the three—upward-moving air, downward-clearing air, and abiding air—lies in mastering the points of suppressing the upper air, gathering the lower air, and expanding the middle air.
