This is because, in the Vajra Heart Drop Commentary, it says, "For those bound by the habits of conceptual thought, the ritual of the generation stage is first taught." Therefore, the characteristics of the ritual are that it possesses four special qualities: it possesses the complete generation stage that accords with the cause, it generates the qualities of the mantra as its own result, its essence is easy to dissolve and is related to emptiness, and its function is complete with purification, perfection, and maturation. The first point is, in the Net of Illusion, it says, "In order to purify the four birth places, the generation is also likewise fourfold: with elaboration, without elaboration, and extremely without elaboration." This is considering that in order to purify the illusion of samsara, that is, the habits of the four birth places, four ways of generation are taught, the first being the way of purifying egg-born beings. Just as egg-born beings are born twice, generate the two forms of self-generation and other-generation. For self-generation, there are five actions for others: generating the main deity from the seed, summoning the Buddhas of the ten directions and dissolving them into the mandala, summoning sentient beings and purifying their obscurations, generating the great non-duality, taking it from the sky and placing it on the seat. For other-generation, there are eight actions for oneself: just as an egg matures, the main deity dissolves into light and becomes a seed, from which the father and mother are born, the reproductive organs are complete, the father's conceptual thought becomes letters, light radiates from the mother, prayers are offered to the gods, everything dissolves into oneself, arrogance is held, entering into equipoise, generating the mandala in the sky, in order to reveal the forty-two conceptual thoughts as deities, exorcism is performed, and binding and sealing with the four mudras. Therefore, for the way in which samsara manifests, that is, the generation stage for those who practice with elaboration, praise is given to the generation stage for purifying womb-born beings. The standard for beginners is said in the commentary on the Four Hundred and Fifty Verses to be up to those who can manifest a rough mandala in an instant. If we consider the generation stage and completion stage separately, all stages of the generation stage are for beginners, and the completion stage is the opposite of that, as stated in the Five Stages and the Compendium of Practices. Just as it is first an egg, and then matures into a form, in order to purify the habits of beings born twice, a special antidote is taught in the form of self-generation and other-generation. First, in the Peak of Wisdom, it says, "Those who are with the son and consort, are...

It arises from the Dharma of increase, and sentient beings are made as sons. Thus it is said. There are two aspects to this: the method of the Sadhana section, which is shown in the oral instructions, and the method of the Tantra section, which is shown in transformation. The first is: the intention of the great Vidyadhara Padmasambhava, as stated in the Lama's Instructions: There are five ways to make others as one's own sons: From the seed of the cause, generate the principal father and mother; invoke the Buddhas of the ten directions and dissolve them into the sky; invoke sentient beings and purify their obscurations; praise the greatness of non-duality; and take them out of the sky and place them in the mandala. This means that, relying on the oral instructions of the three Samadhis, the body that has matured as the basis of practice, in the realm of space, generate the Vajradhara as the cause as father and mother, and in their secret space, invite all the Buddhas of the ten directions and practice them as the seed for making them one's own sons; invite sentient beings, purify their obscurations, and dissolve them into the oneness of Samsara and Nirvana; praise the greatness of non-duality; and due to this cause, from the secret space of the Vajradhara who arises as the result, take out the retinue and place them in the mandala, which is called making sentient beings as sons to attain Buddhahood. The second is: From the Ocean of Illusion: It does not contradict the naturally arising reality, and by knowing the path in the result itself, all the mandalas, bindus, etc., should be visualized as one's own sons. The meaning of this passage is that, as stated in the King of Tantras, Illusion, there are two aspects: generating the principal father and mother and entering into Samadhi, and unfolding the wonderful mandala of sons from the clouds of letters. The first is: With the words, "Emaho! Wonderful and amazing Dharma, the secret of all the perfect Buddhas, everything arises from the unborn, and from the arising itself is unborn," stabilize the ultimate Bodhicitta, and practice the three Samadhis of the generation stage. Among them, the other two are the same as the common ones, but the difference in the Samadhi of the cause is stated in Illusion: The rootless nature of mind is the root of all Dharmas, the nature of mind is the nature of letters, and letters are like wish-fulfilling jewel clouds. By the cause of reciting the letter "A" (藏文:ཨ,梵文:अ,罗马音:a,汉语字面意思:无), the nature of mind is perfected into letters, unfolding, contracting, clarifying, obscuring, and completely transforming, thereby making the nature of manifest enlightenment like the sun and moon.
