It says therein: The face of the Bhagavan should be turned towards the wrathful, frowning one. On the right side is the goddess Tara, beautiful and graceful, with her body bent, and the eyes should be fixed on the supreme giving mudra. On the left is the beautiful and graceful Lord of the Lotus family, in accordance with the form of the mantra, and the eyes should be fixed on the Amoghapasha. Furthermore, the Vajrasekhara states: The assembly of deities in the mandala, the male also looks at the female, and the female also looks at the male. Therefore, the deities of the Kriya Tantra appear with wide-open eyes. To subdue those with desire who are satisfied with the division of the three unions, the deities of the Carya Tantra are also shown to be similar. As it is said in the Abhisamayalankara: To his right is the goddess called Buddhalocana, the goddess with a slightly smiling face, a halo of light one fathom in extent, an incomparable body that is exceedingly pure, she is the mother of Shakyamuni. And: The great Vairochana king, should be depicted with a slightly smiling face. And so on, thus all the deities of the Carya Tantra are only smiling. To subdue those with desire who, in the time of duality, touch each other and hold hands, the deities of the Yoga Tantra are also shown in this way. As it is said in the Tsemol: The Vajra goddess makes the sound "ca ca", embracing her own goddess with her knees, turning her head, looking everywhere with a smile, embracing the feet of the Bhagavan. And: In the Shri Paramadya: The assembly of deities in the mandala, their arms placed slightly tightly together. And: On his side is the great Vajra, striving to draw back the arrow, completely embracing with a loving gesture, and raising the makara banner. Thus, all the deities of Yoga appear with connected mudras. In the time of strife, to subdue those with desire who actually unite the two organs, the deities of the Anuttara Tantra are shown as united in yab-yum. As it is said in the Root Tantra of the Samvara: Having recited the mantra on the two organs, the practitioner unites with the dakini. And: In the Guhyasamaja: All things that are the union of the two organs should be examined. Thus, through the means of naming and differentiation, the disciples who are known in common to the higher and lower tantra classes
