Since it is the grasping that arises from the wind of karma, it does not mix with objects and people. It does not sever the after-effects of things that have dharma. It does not look at the state of dharma nature. It does not grasp onto the non-existence of the knowable realm, but rather, each with its own awareness wisdom, the effortless power of non-discrimination, guarded by mindfulness, the impurities of the internal and external elements also become self-purified. As it says in the Consequence School: After the real and unreal are purified, the attachment to the five senses is purified, the grossness of the elements is grasped, and the wisdom is purified, showing the appearance of increase. From this comes the nature of exhaustion. So it is said. Such a perfected discrimination is the way the footprints of the Buddhas of the three times reach the ground of the wisdom guru, as it says in the Treasury of Unborn Jewels: Do not discriminate anywhere, nor think about it. Do not fabricate, let the nature be naturally relaxed. Unfabricated bliss, unborn precious treasury. It is the footprint of all the Buddhas of the three times. So it is said. Now, the five lower paths that grasp cause and effect as pure liberation, the self-perfected Great Perfection, the truth inseparable from the dharma nature, the five paths that transcend the mind, are summarized into meaning. In short, the path of the sphere is the single dharma nature. The path of awareness is extraordinary wisdom. The path of clear light is the two lamps. The path of trekchö is simultaneous realization and liberation. The path of tögal is the sphere and awareness. Among them, the first aspect, the nature of the sphere, is profound because it cannot be reached by terms and knowledge. It is peaceful because mind and intention do not arise. It is free from elaboration because it transcends existence and non-existence, truth and falsehood. It is clear light because the radiance of its nature is uninterrupted. It is unconditioned because it does not change in the three times. Thus, the King of Sages said: Profound, peaceful, free from elaboration, clear light, unconditioned. I have found a dharma like nectar. This is clear. Such a sphere is shown in this pith instruction tantra as having three characteristics: In the Self-Arisen it says: The wisdom of the sphere of dharma is the realm of great emptiness, the appearance of clear light, and the three objects of wisdom awareness. The union of these three is called the sphere. So it is said. It is also inherently endowed with the qualities of power, etc., because its nature does not change. The sphere, appearance, and awareness are related as the basis and the supported, but it does not grasp onto the essence as self. It is not a limited emptiness, the object of mind and the nature of memory.

Although exhaustion causes samsara to inevitably lose its characteristics, it does not disappear like a mere void. The basis of nirvana is naturally accomplished from the beginning, and is called the Dharmadhatu of the self-illuminating Sugatagarbha, like a burning lamp, the self-nature appearance does not cease. Intelligence, reality, and memory are all exhausted, appearances are self-purified in the Dharmadhatu, even the non-conceptual awareness, because of knowing the unwavering equality, everything is also in the equal Dharmadhatu. Originally, conceptual thoughts have been exhausted, abiding in the self-nature pure Dharmadhatu. Speech and the words of appearance are non-dual, in the Dharmadhatu without outer and inner, abiding in great ease. Thus it is said. Like this, for the naturally accomplished, unconditioned Dharmadhatu, without truly realizing its utter purity, if one grasps the Dharmadhatu as self, such a partial emptiness does not liberate from the dangers of permanence and annihilation, and is very far from the meaning of the Great Perfection beyond extremes. If the guru teaches with pith instructions, then the places of the ground, path, and fruit will become clear. However, if one does not realize the Dharmadhatu as the basis, and only views it as emptiness, or grasps partial emptiness as the Dharmadhatu, then one will fall into the extremes of permanence and annihilation, which contradicts the meaning of being beyond extremes. Thus it is said. If so, one might wonder, why can't sentient beings be liberated effortlessly? This is because the self-nature pure Dharmadhatu is defiled by the obscurations of ignorance and grasping like a charnel ground, and has long been accustomed to the place of the totally imputed. Therefore, habits are left in objects, meanings, and mind, and even though they are not there originally, the illusory wheel of samsara appears. Like this, the eight consciousnesses relying on the alaya consciousness impute ignorance to the part of awareness, therefore it is called the totally imputed mind, abiding in a state with the characteristics of samsara. For those who have realized, the meaning of sentient beings and Buddhas lies only in the difference between awareness moving from its own place, falling into the box of grasping and being grasped, and liberating into the vast freedom of self-luminosity that is not mistaken from its nature. As it was said before: The mind of sentient beings and the intention of the Victorious Ones, the difference between awareness being limited and vast freedom. The same object, attention, consciousness falls into the box, the three realms and three minds each have their own objects. From that, transcending everything, without direction or limitation, pure like space, is the wisdom of the Victorious Ones. Thus it is said. Therefore, for those with excellent faculties, at the moment the seed of empowerment falls into their being, they can encounter the ultimate meaning of Vajrayana
