In the Tantra of Wisdom Coextensive with Space, it says: 'Samādhi and the absence of a basis for knowledge, and the two, Dzogchen vipassanā awareness, are similar, and error leads to straying.' Likewise, although awareness dawns on an object, its own nature and function do not separate, so do not examine externally, do not scrutinize internally, do not place in between; its dharmatā is free from elaboration, appearing nakedly, and does not change into anything else, so it is not overwhelmed by the adornment of appearances. For example, even if mercury is placed in a smooth ash, it will not be stained by even a speck of dust. Thus, in the Kunje (All-Creating King) it says: 'That which is to be known, the object, is born from bodhicitta. It is objectless bodhicitta, born from wisdom itself. Therefore, do not meditate on samādhi. Because you do not meditate on samādhi, you will not accumulate the habit of samādhi. The dharmatā without habit is said to be the intention of the Buddhas of the three times. The intention of all the Buddhas of the three times does not conceptualize objects; it naturally abides in equality.' Thus it is. When the mind appears as an object, because it does not recognize that nature, it is accustomed to being lost in the object, and is deluded by grasping and the grasped. The conceptual thoughts and various appearances, whose power has increased, are the agents of taking up. As it says in the Six Spaces: 'Self-awareness, free from thought, and the various arising feelings of the mind, are similar, similar, easy to mistake. The perfection of wisdom's own power, and the various memories of the mind, are similar, similar, easy to mistake.' Thus it is. If we differentiate between mind and wisdom in terms of function and naming, the mind that gathers like water grasps at the four of memory and thought. The mind that relies like a mountain gathers various assemblies. The mind that goes like fire manifestly engages with objects. The mind that is light like wind moves everywhere, so mind is designated as the nature of ignorance. Realizing the unborn state, not losing the unceasing thought, the unchanging example and meaning intermingle, and the self-perfected reality is not separated even before, from these aspects, mind itself is designated as the nature of awareness. As it says in the Six Spaces: 'Alas! Great-minded one, awareness and mind itself, born from awareness, are beyond all defilements and conceptual thoughts.'

In short, all the causes and results of transcending suffering are the realm of experience for those who see the self-manifesting wisdom. All the appearances that are contemplated by the mind that grasps at its own characteristics, all that appears to exist and all that appears not to exist, all appearances, sounds, views, meditations, and actions, and all grasping, thoughts, and afflictions—in short, all that appears as an object of thought is such. In short, all the phenomena of samsara are the mind that grasps at its own characteristics, all the self-appearing appearances of the six classes of beings. Thus it is said. Therefore, it is also said in the "Arya Hundred Thousand Stanzas": "Mind has no mind, the nature of mind is clear light." And in the "Uttaratantra": "Because the nature of that mind is clear light, it is seen that afflictions have no essence." Therefore, it should be understood that the meaning of the vast expanse is also consistent. Therefore, in the path of the Great Perfection Heart Essence, there is no sharp or dull faculty because of realizing the naked awareness; the stream of awareness is maintained without interruption, so the stream of self-arisen wisdom is unceasing; the radiance of awareness is clear to the senses, so it does not rely on speculation; because the awareness that transcends intellect and thought is realized to its exhaustion, it does not depend on the wisdom of hearing and thinking; because awareness is chased like lightning, it is realized that view, meditation, action, and result are artificial. As it is said in the "Striking the Vital Point": "The heart essence is definitely the summarized meaning, the senses have neither sharpness nor dullness, the limits of mental discrimination are exhausted, it is seen by the senses, not by wisdom, because the nature of words is not seen, the common vehicle does not accomplish the meaning, the three bodies are the manifestation of the path, seeing this does not reverse the three realms, because all dharmas are equal and of one taste, it does not depend on the ground, path, and result." Thus it is said. To those who hold preconceived notions about this particular philosophical position and cannot comprehend it, they think, "If there is no mind, it is an inanimate object; when the mind ceases, awareness also ceases." This view is because we have not fully understood the meaning of the Buddha's teachings, because we do not understand, we think that view, meditation, and action cannot transcend the mind, therefore, we assert that we have seen the nature of reality that is not mixed with the eight consciousnesses. Even if there is no mind, there is the wisdom of the clear light of the nature of mind.
