Like a fog swirling and obscuring. If skill and contemplation are cultivated as practice, dividing it into the seen and the seer, by accomplishing the cause and effect of the seer and the seen, it will harm the lamp of awareness that possesses the self-nature of dualistic grasping. As it says in the "Six Spaces": Seeing is the impurity of the mind. In the stainless, pure Dharma-nature, there is separation from the seer and the seen. Seeing itself has no place to be seen. If seeing exists, the lamp of awareness will disappear. Therefore, in Ati Dzogchen, there is no Dharma-nature of holding onto seeing. In Ati Yoga Dzogchen, it is said that there is no fruit to be accomplished. The fruit is unmade and self-arisen. In the state of non-thought, the Tathagata abides. Furthermore, awareness is like the moon in the empty sky. Although the clear, intrinsic light is not diminished in the slightest, the manifestation of the skill of wisdom does not enter the realm of the mind-consciousness, therefore it is called the self-aware wisdom of each individual. As it says in the "Praise to the Mother Who Holds the Sound": Inexpressible, unthinkable, unspeakable Prajñāpāramitā, unborn, unceasing, the nature of space, the realm of activity of self-aware wisdom. The mind is like the light of the fifteenth moon mixed with the appearance of objects, in the realm of memory and thought, the knowledge of contemplation arises, therefore the realm of the five senses is mixed with the close taking of mental factors. As it says in the "Perfection of Skill": Mind and wisdom are not the actual imprints. Although wisdom is separated from all imprints, the mind gathers various imprints. If mind and wisdom are not separated, the root of the appearance of objects will not be severed, and even if the Dharma-nature free from conditions is pure, it will be difficult to realize. Moreover, the mind is the follower of awareness. Awareness does not follow the mind, therefore it is not under the control of the mind. Some say that because contemplation can be made into the realm of those who see the truth, therefore contemplation is the knowable. This statement is merely looking outward, merely empty talk that is not initially tainted by experience. Here, in the aspect of not contemplating self-arisen wisdom as an object, self-abiding awareness is spontaneously accomplished. Moreover, although clarity is unceasing from the pure part of awareness that is not different, I do not contemplate the nature of objects, I do not contemplate, I do not grasp, therefore in its own nature, the appearance of objects is like the reflection appearing in a mirror, the substance is one.

The non-establishment of self-nature in the appearance of objects from the single essence is the merit of awareness. The consciousness that appears in objects is the mind of samsara, because it does not go beyond the aspect of grasping and being grasped. Therefore, the shamatha that focuses single-pointedly on emptiness, and the vipassanā that examines it, whether they are established as union or non-union, because they enjoy the object of clinging there, they do not transcend worldly meditation. Therefore, if awareness is directly recognized and one knows how to relax in its state, the adventitious stains of the mind, not established as the nature of awareness, will naturally dissolve without a trace and will not be stained by habitual tendencies. As it is said in 'Self-Arisen': The appearance of awareness itself, transcends the extremes of permanence and annihilation. The inexpressible, completely pure Dharma, transcends the extremes of yes and no. The nature of no negation and affirmation, transcends the extremes of grasping and attachment. Immaculate, luminous, spontaneously accomplished. Thus. In 'The All-Creating King' it says: Self-born wisdom does not conceptualize objects, therefore it is not stained by the habitual tendencies of conceptualization. Thus. Similarly, awareness is wisdom abiding in its own state, not relying on the means of meditation, free from sinking and excitement. The mind is single-pointed on the object of focus, related to samadhi and the supported and the supporter. Although awareness arises in the object, it is not overcome by appearance, still like falling into water and earth. The mind is connected with the parts of grasping and being grasped, mixed with the side of taking conceptual thoughts. Although awareness does not abandon the mind itself to another place, mind and awareness do not occur together, objects and appearances are the same as self-nature, and afflictions also flee together. Among them, the wisdom of awareness abiding in its own state is a special vipassanā, therefore, in the face of awareness, the appearance of objects does not cease. Awareness itself is not perceived on the appearance. It does not rely on the method of restraining the mind in meditation. Because it is not restrained in this way, awareness controls all places and movements, and cannot be overcome by the harm of sinking and excitement. How does the meditation that makes the mind the path focus single-pointedly on the object of focus? And the union of view and meditation like the supported and the supporter becomes an obstacle to awareness, a breeding ground for nourishing conceptual thoughts, only a small realization, not the Great Perfection.
