Just as light, awareness, and the knowable, like reflections in a mirror, gather together, this is called the objective condition. When these three are simultaneous, it is the immediately preceding condition, which is the actual arising of illusion. So, how do these four conditions function on the path during the time of sentient beings? In the realm of the cause, since Buddhas and sentient beings are one, recognizing the wisdom that transcends acceptance and rejection, the causal condition is liberated in its own place. When various objects arise, reverting to the self-appearance of reality, one is liberated from the dominant condition. And knowing that this does not go beyond the naturally arising wisdom, one is liberated from the objective condition. For the timeless Samantabhadra, since there is no contradiction of before and after, one is liberated from the immediately preceding condition. Thus, the nature of illusion as cause and condition, also because the ripening of both is done by the body, the accumulation also becomes different. The mind as the cause, because the objects of perception are different, therefore the object and mind are mistaken as different. Together with body and mind, the illusion that arises in the first moment is called the beginning of samsara. The Root Wisdom says: 'The beginning of all samsaric phenomena, from the indivisible, uncreated nature, the object of grasping arises, from conceptual grasping various phenomena appear, the twelve links of separation from grasping and object, is the very beginning of samsara. The way of illusion arises from the three ignorances. Passing through and indivisible root, because one does not recognize oneself as I, this is also the beginning of samsara.' These also exist in the way of the twelve links of dependent origination in the mode of arising. At the root of compassion, the three causes of not recognizing one's own nature are ignorance. From this, the four conditions are the formations that lead to samsara. From this, the coarse consciousness increases, and the discernment of the form of the object is consciousness. From that, the arising of different names and forms is name and form. Its distinction lies in the formation of the individual components and colors of the six sense sources. From this, enjoying the object is contact. From this, the arising of the three feelings of pleasure, pain, and neutrality is feeling. Attachment to pleasure is craving. From this, accepting the object is grasping. From this, actions and afflictions increase, and projecting towards the next life is existence. From this, arising in different realms is birth. From this, experiencing the stages of childhood and youth, then aging and dying is old age and death. That is the way it is.

From the initial delusion until ultimately not liberated into the basic sphere, continuously revolving in the six realms of beings like a chariot wheel, it is therefore called samsara. Its nature is: Thus, the six types of beings and the four modes of birth, when the self-nature of illusionary appearances manifests, in the initial emptiness that has never existed, the six discriminating consciousnesses arise and the six aggregates appear. The bondage of grasping at conceptual thoughts as self is extremely powerful; the nature of mind, like the realm of space, this absence of inherent existence is also greatly bound. Like a fire wheel clinging to the existence of self. Although there is no awareness of the ground and path, when the potential ground stirs into appearance, the aspect of not recognizing one's own nature, in the state of revolving in samsara, the alaya becomes indeterminate, from which the six ignorances arise. The aspect of its consciousness is naturally clear and does not conceptualize objects, from which the manner of the six discriminating minds arising naturally appears. Ignorance is as follows: the root ignorance of mind, the ignorance of deluded objects, the ignorance of the ground of delusion, the ignorance of grasping at concepts, the ignorance of modifying the path, and the ignorance of unknowing bewilderment. Thus, six types of ignorance arise, and one does not see one's own appearances. This is also as follows: The root ignorance of mind is the actual co-emergent, not knowing the true face of awareness and becoming deluded, thinking, "Did this appearance of awareness arise from me? Or is this not my appearance?" The arising of this thought is the co-emergent root ignorance, becoming deluded by the arising of the mind that grasps at self. Then, the appearance of awareness and wisdom is obscured. This is called the root ignorance of mind. Now, the ignorance of deluded objects is explained. By what is one deluded? The object is when the world had not yet formed, there was a tree called the Wish-Fulfilling Tree, a tree that arose from the blessings of the Buddha Youth Vase Body, and a tree that arose from an egg and something born from moisture. From that, the wisdom called Self-Arisen Mind moved, and from that, the non-artificial world was formed. This is called the ignorance of deluded objects. This is a symbol, the outer vessel and inner essence, gathered by the sudden deluded mind, appear as two. The outer vessel is the great basis of sentient beings' memory.
