Like this and so on, the limits. Aren't these all knowable? Just as the Buddha said. Thus it is said. Fourth, it is also unreasonable to consider the basis (of samsara) to be the actual entity of definitive meaning. If it is thought to be definitive after realizing that basis, then before realization, there must exist the basis of realization, Nirvana, which is the same as the eternal view of the heretics, and contradicts the view of being liberated from causes and conditions. If it is the basis even without realization, then how is it known to be the basis? If it is said that it is known because the nature of samsara is Nirvana, then if the nature is Nirvana, there is no need for primordial liberation, just as the nature of water does not need moisture, coldness, endurance, or adjustment. As it was said earlier: 'What is said to be the basis of certainty is not the real essence. For example, to those with gold, a conch appears yellow. By the distinction of self-reversal, self and other are without duality, free from the limits of certainty. Therefore, that is not real either.' Or, because the cause is certain and the effect is certain, it becomes no different from the eternal self. Isn't this also knowable? What was said is the same as above. Thus it is said. Fifth, it is also unreasonable to think that it can be transformed into anything. Is it transformed into permanence? Or transformed into impermanence? Permanence cannot be transformed, just as the sky cannot be cut. Impermanence does not need to be transformed, because even without transformation, change is the nature of things. Therefore, if the basis can be transformed, then the result will become the cause, matter will become awareness, and awareness will also become matter, as it was said earlier: 'What was said earlier to be transformable, if one's own state of being can be transformed, this is also the same as being uncertain. The result itself becomes the cause, therefore there is no need for effort, because of repeated transformation, matter can all become awareness, isn't this also knowable?' What was said is the same. Thus it is said. Sixth, it is also unreasonable to think that anything can be arbitrarily promised, just like promising that rabbits have horns, and that the son of a barren woman can perform samsara and nirvana, etc., which will lead to limitless faults. As it was said earlier: 'For those with promises, the Buddha himself said earlier, these are all just extensions of sects, in order to accomplish everything with intention, it will lead to limitless faults, isn't this also knowable?' What the Buddha said is the same as before. Thus it is said. Seventh, the basis appears
