Since one should not follow the reasoning based on the ground, one should respectfully regard only the aspect of contemplating the instructions on the path of practice through faith. For the conditioned precepts, one should practice them by being completely grasped by skillful means and wisdom. If one does not possess these two and is inherently afflicted, then it is impossible to restore. In short, it is admonished: Not understanding the hidden secret, holding the concealed secret as all that is manifest. Thus, if one practices by knowing the permissions and prohibitions of the Vajrayana path as they are, it is more excellent and faster than other paths. Killing Brahmins daily and practicing the uninterrupted deeds, because it is suitable as a basis for generating mantra vows, what need is there to mention the greatness of the skillful means of secret mantra? For those to be tamed who are abandoned by other vehicles, even if they are those who possess deeds such as the uninterrupted ones, they are suitable as a basis for generating mantra vows. As long as one has remorse and turns away from that evil deed, and then regards a qualified guide lama as a Buddha, and does not deviate from practicing according to his instructions, then from the lama himself, even down to the perfections, the blessings of the Buddha, which cannot be known to arise, will arise in the state of mantra. By respectfully regarding and accepting each and every aspect of the vows, immeasurable obscurations are exhausted and great accumulations are perfected. Because there are profound and numerous skillful means, one becomes subject to sharp faculties, and there is also the reason for liberation in one lifetime. As it is said in the root text: Killing Brahmins daily, and doing the five uninterrupted deeds, enjoying the work of thieves and robbers, one will be liberated by this path, and will not be stained by sin. Also, as it is said in the Holy First: Upwards, such as bamboo craftsmen, and those who do the five uninterrupted deeds, if they follow the practice of mantra, they will become Buddhas in this very life. Even so, one cannot achieve by denigrating the lama. As it is said in the Collected Sutras: Sentient beings who commit uninterrupted deeds, etc., even if they are great sins, can be accomplished in the ocean of Vajrayana and this supreme vehicle. Those who denigrate the teacher from the heart, even if they practice, will not be accomplished. Therefore, not knowing the limits of transgressions, not respecting the lama, and being accustomed to carelessness and afflictions.

Afflictions are powerful. Above the four doors through which downfalls occur, Adding excessive speech and unclear memory, These six are the causes of vows decaying. Therefore, mindfulness and awareness are the antidotes, Like a blind person gaining the opportunity for eye surgery. Like that, protect, in the six sessions of day and night, At the places of what to take and leave, strive and strive to observe. Therefore, if you do not want to abandon the vows, you must understand the boundaries of what to take and leave for each downfall; this is the first door through which downfalls occur. Even if you understand this, if you do not consult the guru, and do not value the guru's teachings; even if you are respectful, you like places of carelessness, letting yourself do as you please. If you have a little mind to guard against carelessness, but you cannot apply antidotes to the aspects of the three poisons arising from your own mind, your mind is overwhelmed. On top of these four, adding forgetfulness and little mindfulness, as well as unclear memory and lax behavior, it becomes six situations. The Dakini Samvara Tantra says: "Ignorance and carelessness, Much affliction and disrespect, Forgetfulness and unclear memory, These six are the causes of vows decaying." Therefore, the method to protect against these decays is like a blind person who has been blind for many years, if one day they gain the opportunity to regain sight through a doctor's surgery, they are careful and cautious day and night until the wound heals. Similarly, for the previously mentioned six sessions of day and night, with awareness and mindfulness, thinking that you are a vessel of downfalls and contrary to qualities, thereby destroying arrogance and guarding against the faults of carelessness. As the scripture says: "Therefore, after destroying arrogance, Do not deceive yourself, clearly recognize yourself." Those who have such a mind of caution and experience feelings, if the vows decay, the method of restoration is also superior to the lower ones. If the Hearer's precepts do not arise with a hidden mind, they can be restored seven times; if with a hidden mind, even once, there is no opportunity to restore, like a broken clay pot. The Bodhisattva vows are like precious belongings being damaged, requiring reliance on other conditions and dependence on a virtuous friend to restore. The Secret Mantra vows are like a precious container being damaged, requiring reliance on one's own power to restore.
