Even though aggregates of consciousness, faculties, sense consciousness, objects, and so on arise from the basis of all, one should recognize their self-nature as pure, and thus in the temporary state, remember the purity of knowing them as deities and their Dharma-nature wisdom. As stated in the "Establishment of the Three Samayas": "The five aggregates and the five elements, consciousness, faculties, objects, and so on, should be known as deities and mandalas by their very nature." Therefore, in the Vajrayana system, one must abandon the view of seeing the nature of the three realms as self-characterized, and instead view them solely as the mandalas of the Buddhas. Fifth, the five things to be accomplished are: Vajra, Ratna, Padma, and the like, the five things to be accomplished are accomplished through the power of realization and habituation. These are the intentions of the clear illumination of the Samayas. That is, one should strive to actually accomplish the five knowable things just mentioned in one's own mind-stream through the power of realization and habituation. As it says in the same text: "The five Samayas to be accomplished are: the five aggregates and the five elements, consciousness and objects, which accomplish the mandala. Having perfected the three samadhis and the five rituals, one accomplishes the mandala of the five victorious families, and makes mental effort with the five samadhis and rituals." Thus, the five things to be known and the five things to be accomplished are mutually dependent. If one realizes what is to be known, which is the Samaya of view, then what is accomplished is the Samaya of meditation. Therefore, one should practice the union of view and meditation. Within that state, the three, namely, practicing, not abandoning, and accepting, are the Samayas of practice. However, for beginners, one should not abandon them in mind, but treat them with respect. One should not practice them with the body, but practice faultless behavior with the three, namely, shame, embarrassment, and fear, and the most important thing is not to be ashamed of oneself. Furthermore, some foolish and base individuals who have little learning and whose minds are corrupted by demons, think they have realized emptiness and act as they please. Their thinking that they have realized it is actually the unmistakable manifestation of their non-realization. Therefore, for individuals with mental defects, this path of mantra is extremely harmful. Having gained a little warmth in experience, one should not forget the order of what is permitted and what is forbidden, and keep them in mind day and night, guarding the Samayas with discernment.

If it contradicts (the Dharma), abandon it; if it doesn't contradict, practice it. However, as long as there is doubt in the mind, karma and its results will inevitably follow. Therefore, understand the characteristics of misdeeds unrelated to worldly transactions, and thereby learn the conduct of Samantabhadra with a sense of shame. The third is the superior samaya, from the "Great Nirvana Tantra of Vajrakilaya": Do not kill the lion, the king of beasts. Do not consume Zamatog mixed with poison. Do not cut precious bamboo shoots from the root. Do not drink boiling water melted from snow. Do not open the pistils of blooming lotuses. Do not pour essence into leaky vessels. Do not mix untested wealth and food. Do not throw white crystal balls into the mud. Do not milk lionesses into bad containers. Do not burn wish-fulfilling jewels in the stove. Do not break the wings of the Garuda, the king of birds. Do not strike meteoric iron claws on the ground. Do not eat leftover food played with by tigers and leopards. Do not destroy rocks spoken of by Vajra speech. Do not demolish walls surrounded by Vajra fences. Do not extinguish lamps that dispel darkness. Do not cut ice dams in Vajra rivers. Do not give away royal seals. Do not dig the foundations of Vajra fortresses. Do not measure victory banners topped with precious jewels with signs of desire. These, through metaphorical language, abiding in common and special samayas, particularly emphasize protection during gatherings and other occasions, hence they are superior samayas. In order: Do not despise the guru. Do not harm the consort. Do not interrupt gatherings of faithful people. Do not defile property, and do not drink intoxicating alcohol, the root of emptiness. Do not use the consort of a brother. Do not mix bad names. Do not rely on the wealth of those possessed by spirits or those in disputes, and do not eat unblessed food. Do not let the bodhicitta decline. Do not teach the Dharma to unworthy vessels. Do not abandon disciples who are worthy vessels. Do not separate the meaning of father and mother, combine bliss and emptiness. Do not quarrel with Dharma sisters. Do not consume leftovers used by others. Do not usurp the guru's seat. Do not break the boundaries of oneself and others. Do not separate shamatha and vipashyana. Do not interrupt the continuity of recitation and rituals. Do not transgress the mudras of empowerment.
