Regarding the method of mastering the three key points of pressing down the upper wind, gathering the lower wind, and accumulating the middle wind, it is said in the "Overmeasuring Scripture": 'Move upwards and eliminate downwards, in the middle, the wise seek the key point.' Furthermore, one must be skilled in the nine key points of shooting like an arrow, bending like a bow, accumulating like a vase, binding like a crocodile, suppressing like a mountain, collecting like a water pipe, spreading out at the pulse points, dissolving in one's own place, and spreading universally in the Dharma nature like the sky. The nature of wind is twofold: the wind of karma and the wind of wisdom. As it is said in the Chakra of Pulse Points: 'Wind has two aspects, namely wisdom and the wind of karma.' Therefore, the wind of karma is the cause of samsara. Due to changes and disturbances in the pulse points, it transforms into the wind of karma, becoming the mount of the mind, from which arise various kinds of discriminating thoughts, unwholesome transformations, and poor states of wind energy such as lethargy, agitation, and dullness. Misplacement leads to various illusions. Changes in the four seasons' winds also lead to the end of life. The wind, like ice in winter, transforms into fire wind; the wind, like seeds in spring, transforms into water wind; the wind, like sparks in summer, transforms into earth wind; the wind, like flowers in autumn, transforms into wind wind, thereby causing the end of life. Furthermore, insufficient flow also leads to the end of life. When one is in their prime, if it is less than three hundred, life is reduced by one year; less than fifty, life is reduced by two years; less than thirty-two, life is reduced by three years; less than twenty-one, life is reduced by four years; less than eighty percent, life is reduced by seven months; less than sixty percent, life is reduced by five months; less than forty percent, life is reduced by one month; less than ten percent, life is reduced by twenty-nine days; less than twenty, life is reduced by eighteen days; less than thirty, life is reduced by ten days; less than forty, life is reduced by seven days; less than sixty, life is reduced by fifteen days. Changes in the wind also cause diseases, such as the fire wind during the day turning into water wind, the water wind at night turning into wind wind, the earth wind at noon turning into wind wind, and the wind wind in the evening turning into fire wind, all of which lead to internal diseases. The transformation of fire wind leads to bile diseases, water...

Now, wind generates wind-related diseases, and earth generates solidity, resulting in the combination of two diseases. The combination, meaning all three elements combined, gives rise to illness. The method of treatment is clearly explained in the 'Intermittent Instructions' of the great scholar Vimala. In short, the twelve distinctions of karma wind increase and decrease internally. Therefore, there are twelve years, twelve months internally, and twelve secret time cycles, thereby ripening samsara. These, when summarized, can be reduced to the two causes of holding and generating. From that method of summarization, there are two types of karma: the cause of holding and the cause of generating. So it is said. Furthermore, in relation to external circumstances, if one day's wind of 21,600 is divided by a staff, then one day has eight periods, one period has thirty-two parts, one part has sixty-four staffs, and one staff has sixteen moments. Just as one moment has 1,350 winds, so too should others be established. Thus, the twelve activities that occur in one such day transform into twelve movements. This shows the twelve increases and decreases of wind, just as the north-south movement of the sun causes the length of day and night. Just as the wheel of time accurately shows the essential points, so too is it with the internal wind. The way in which the wisdom wind ripens nirvana is that, in general, even if two winds are one, merely in terms of temporary movement, if the essential point is struck, then from the undisturbed movement of the channels, it becomes the wisdom wind, thereby showing the activities of bliss, emptiness, and clarity. Therefore, it is called the wisdom wind, which is not defiled by the terminology of obscuring knowledge. For example, if the karma wind is tyrannical and engages in taking life, it will become madness. However, if it enters the wisdom channel of the central channel, which does not abide in the two extremes, then just as the qualities of the Buddha's ground and fruition are generated. From the clarity of consciousness and the wind flowing from the channels, even if it is just that one point, in terms of whether it is struck or not struck, and whether it has truly entered the path or not, that which is capable is wisdom, and that which is not capable becomes the cause of affliction and samsara. Therefore, the activities that the wisdom wind is capable of are four: from the aspect of the wind being immovable, because it performs the activity of the wisdom of the base, all appearances are the nature of abiding.
