And, even initially examining the wisdom that enters into characteristics, it is also from the outside that it enters into the meaning of no self-nature. As the Noble Cloud of Jewels Sutra says, understanding no self-nature by examining with higher seeing is entering into the absence of characteristics. Therefore, in the definitive meaning, the Lankavatara Sutra says: "Great Wisdom, for what reason, if examined by the mind, are self and general characteristics not understood? Therefore, all dharmas are without self-nature." And, the Manjushri's Abode Sutra says: "Discriminating thoughts are moving, without discriminating thoughts there is nirvana, whoever knows its own nature, is called possessing wisdom." Therefore, in equipoise, the higher seeing of completely knowing the nature that transcends both sinking and excitement, which are the qualities of no discriminating thought, is the very nature of wisdom. If, on top of that, intellectual analysis is added, it will lead to the meditation of childish behavior, as the Noble Sutra of the Complete Purification of Karmic Obscurations says: "Children analyze and examine by grasping at things, the accumulation of illusion is non-existent and empty, here there is no desire, hatred, or ignorance, all these dharmas are without characteristics, the root is invisible, and from the beginning, it is completely pacified." And, the Brahma's Inquiry Sutra says: "How should the path be cultivated?" The Buddha said: "Do not discriminate between dharma and non-dharma, cultivate the path that is free from characteristics." And, in the Stages of Meditation by Master Nagarjuna: "I have no slight amount of discriminating awareness, likewise, this dharma is discriminating consciousness, there is not even a slight amount of knowing, arising and consciousness themselves, appear to foolish and ignorant ones." Therefore, in a state where discernment and the defilement of the mind are completely purified, the wisdom of individual self-awareness, in the state of no self-nature, is experienced by the wisdom of meditation that is equally placed in all ways, therefore, for this meaning, the fully enlightened Buddha and the Noble Master Nagarjuna himself are the reliable authorities. Therefore, in order to become accustomed to the yoga of equanimity of calm abiding and equanimity, meditate for one hour, or half a 'mel tshe,' or one session, or for as long as one desires and remains, and when all dharmas are focused on the meaning of no self-nature, there will be no sinking, excitement, or manifest fabrication.

When it becomes like that, the path of uniting calm abiding and insight is completed. At that time, the supernormal knowledges that a Bodhisattva can generate are the result of the yoga of the Bodhisattva grounds. So, what are the powers of the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas? It is that the mind is tamed, the mind is completely subdued, one obtains mastery over samadhi, and relying on samadhi, all desired things are accomplished; this is called power. Furthermore, power is divided into five types: the power of supernormal knowledges, the power of Dharma, the power born together, the power common to Hearers and Solitary Buddhas, and the power that is uncommon. Having made this distinction, the power of supernormal knowledges is as before, and the others can be understood from that. At these times, the difference between mundane and supramundane equipoise and subsequent attainment is: in the appearance of equipoise, the object of appearance appears without ceasing, but is purified by conceptual thought. The appearing part is material, and the mind manifests the five objects as ordinary, so it is also called mundane. Because at any time, there is no aspect of grasper and grasped, because it is a non-conceptual mind. As it says in the commentary: The pure mundane is the appearance of clinging to the aspects of grasper and grasped, an aspect that is held by the subsequent mind, in order to generate the cessation of the perception of form, etc., which is the fruit that accords with itself. This also says that at that time, the appearance-emptiness part of the mind's appearance part is held by the subsequent mind, which is called equipoise and subsequent attainment. In meaning, it is not different from equipoise itself and the essence of mind, so equipoise itself abandons grasper and grasped, and in accordance with subsequent attainment, similarly, the subsequent attainment, which is the same entity as itself, also abandons the clinging to the perception of grasper and grasped in the nature of the five aggregates such as form. The subsequent attainment that arises from equipoise is called distraction because it has clinging to grasper and grasped, etc. Equipoise and subsequent attainment are of the same essence, and exist in all stages of practicing samadhi. Distraction exists up to the seventh ground, but before that, they are of the same essence, so they are not separate. As Lord Maitreya said: To accomplish actions, always have wisdom, blazing like fire and peaceful.
