Where to go? For example, when a brave and courageous warrior goes to the battlefield, seeing his own blood being shed will cause him to generate even greater courage; while those who are timid and have minds as light and swaying as cottonwood petals, even seeing the blood of others will be frightened and faint and fall down. As it says in the Bodhisattvacharyavatara: Some, seeing their own blood, will have their courage and steadfastness greatly increased; some, even seeing the blood of others, will faint and collapse. This is due to the stability of the mind and the manifestation of cowardice. As it is said. Therefore, dwelling places, worldly dharmas, conduct, completely upholding the Dharma, living by begging, being exhausted by diligence, benefiting sentient beings, and relying on temporary things, these eight are the categories of patience in accepting suffering. Similarly, for the patience of necessarily contemplating the Dharma, there are objects of faith, things to be manifested, objects of desire, what to accept and reject, objects of meditation, what to practice accordingly, faith, and objects of knowledge, in general, there are two sets of eight, which are also explained in the Bodhisattvabhumi, and the conduct of the Bodhisattva Sadāprarudita should be practiced accordingly. The second aspect is that if the patience of not minding harm is lost, then the mind of anger itself will cause great suffering to oneself, so it is said: When the mind of the poisonous arrow of anger is released, the mind will not experience peace. As it is said. Among them, anger is an approximate expression, its similar cause is wrath, and its antidote is patience. Therefore, the Bhagavan said: The thing called anger destroys and renders useless the merit accumulated over thousands of kalpas. It burns the foundation first, and then burns others. Therefore, anger is called wrath. And, even the vast roots of virtue cannot save one, as it says in the Candrapradīpa Sūtra: Whatever mind does harm to each other, it cannot be saved by discipline and hearing. Meditation and solitary places cannot save, and neither can giving and offering to the Buddha. As it is said. Therefore, a Bodhisattva does not generate anger towards the one who harms, and

Therefore, one should regard the thought of anger as an enemy, based on one's own past and the faults of the lineage. Why? Because the sin of anger always follows oneself and cannot be separated in any way; while harm is sudden and does not necessarily always accompany oneself. As it is said in the Bodhicharyavatara: "If others dislike me, if they do not devour me in this life or in another life, then I do not want it." That's how it is. Thirdly, if the forbearance of not being afraid of the profound meaning of Dharma nature is lacking, one will be far from the meaning of transcendence. Because the forbearance related to the worldly path must rely on sentient beings to take objects, rely on the ripening results, and rely on the path of merit to practice forbearance. Then, its nature is contrary to the ultimate truth, is with attachment, is with fabrication, and is with discrimination, thus it is also contrary to the Prajnaparamita. Therefore, completely abandoning all fabrications and aggregates is the way of transcendent forbearance. In the Ten Wheels of Ksitigarbha Sutra, it says: "Noble son, the Bodhisattva's forbearance is of two kinds: worldly and transcendent. Worldly forbearance is to take objects by relying on all sentient beings, rely on the ripening results, and rely on the path of merit to practice forbearance. Transcendent forbearance is to eliminate the four inversions, cultivate forbearance without attachment, is fabrication, and is the three aspects of purity." Therefore, the first two rely on the worldly aspect, and are mainly practiced by beginners as companions of the five aspects of skillful means; the latter is the transcendent aspect, because the habituation is stable, it corresponds to the nature of wisdom and is practiced accordingly. In short, without the three asceticisms of forbearance, one cannot accomplish the other five, such as generosity and discipline, as they are. For example, if one walks on a path surrounded by enemies, thieves, and wild animals without the protection of an army, it is difficult to reach the desired place. Similarly, generosity and so on are closely related to their respective opposing factors, therefore...
