time. What is distinguished is that the Sangha of individual children reaches eight people. Ultimately, if the teacher Devadatta, who is other than the Buddha, and the five ascetic practices of Devadatta, which are other than the true Dharma, are tolerated as the path and adopted as the code of conduct, then that is the division of the Sangha. Therefore, at this time, the teacher is neither alive nor in the world, and it is also a time when faults have occurred in the teachings, and because there are no terms such as designating the two supreme ones. In general, such faults are not impossible to occur, because from the division of the Sangha to the non-reconciliation, none of the five paths will arise in the realm of one teacher. Thus it is said. This is because the other party has said inconsistent words, so due to being biased, it is a dispute of holding a grudge against that matter. The internal cause is attachment to self, the external cause is to perversely prove the suchness of things. Abandoning the teachings, accompanied by downfall, giving alms inconsistent with karma, these four causes of dispute are said in the root text of the pacification ritual: Manifest remembrance is not mad, like the self-nature of anything, like spreading grass, one should not promise. Thus it is said, these are the seven methods of pacifying disputes. Among them, the four schools are: Sarvastivada, Mahasamghika, Sthavira, and Sammatīya. Among them, the first school is the lineage of the royal caste Rāhula, and the seven schools that branched out from it are: Sarvastivada, Kāśyapīya, Dharmagupta, Bahuśrutīya, Haimavata, Kāśyapīya, and Sautrāntika. The Mahasamghika is the lineage of the Brahmin caste Mahākāśyapa, and the five schools that branched out from it are: Eastern Mountain School, Western Mountain School, Snow Mountain School, Prajñaptivāda, and Lokottaravāda. The Sthavira is the lineage of the sugarcane caste Kātyāyana, and the three schools that branched out from it are: the school residing in Jetavana, the school residing in Abhayagiri, and the school residing in the monastery. The Sammatīya is the lineage of the butcher caste Ānanda, and the three schools that branched out from it are: the Vātsīputrīya, the Dharmottarīya, and the Bhadrayānīya. In general, the Śrāvakayāna has eighteen schools.

These differences are also scattered in the Vinaya Pitaka, and are clearly explained in "Light," "The Wheel of Recitation," and "Divisions of the Sects." In Tibet, the Sarvastivada school is the most prevalent. Although these schools differ in form, they are all related to the practices of the five monastic communities, and it is impossible to go beyond the scope established by Shakyamuni Buddha. Therefore, like the omens of Krika, after careful discernment and collection, it is necessary to diligently guard after obtaining the authority over all precepts. If one fails to guard them, then from the perspective of fundamental downfalls, even if the precepts are taught without concealment and remedies are applied, the fundamental cause of failure cannot be completely eliminated until the ultimate fruit of individual liberation, the state of Arhat, is attained. Therefore, the attainment of liberation will be greatly delayed. As the Vinaya Pitaka says: One will not hear the true Dharma, Having heard it, one will quickly forget it, The realization of the stages and paths Will also not arise. The fault of violating the precepts, like an Ela leaf, will lead to rebirth as an animal. Depending on the severity of the violation, such as parajika, sanghavasesa, sthulatyaya, patayantika, and dushkrta, one will be born in succession from the hot hells to the reviving hells. This situation is extensively explained in the sutras. The benefits of guarding the precepts are: Generally, taking precepts in this life with the intention of escaping from diseases, the punishment of kings, and poverty is called the "precept of protecting from fear"; aiming only to obtain the happiness of gods and humans in the next life is called the "precept of good wishes." Although these two precepts cannot liberate one from samsara, they can, in a temporary stage, be combined with their respective fruits of happiness. As the god of the hour, Sigala, said: Auspiciously praised, wealth is a perfect tree, Reborn in a sacred palace of the gods. When the thought of renunciation arises in one's mind, then it becomes a characteristic individual liberation vow, because the nature of this vow is definitely to be liberated from samsara. As the Sutra of the Ten Wheels of the Essence of the Earth says: Guard it without looking at all the ripening aspects of existence. That is to say, in this way, the precept of good wishes, full of joy, transforms the individual liberation vow into a characteristic one by showing the miraculous power of the suffering of hell, thereby attaining the state of Arhat. Therefore, all those with discernment should not be satisfied with merely the form of the precepts.
