Saffron, etc. These are considered the eight major colors. It is said. There are three that are permissible: blue indigo and red madder dye. This and, the three permissible colors, it is said. Those also, clothes that have not been cut with color are not clean. Because it says, those that are suitable for cutting and sewing should be cut and sewn, and if not, they should be patched. However, those that are complete, according to the size of the fine cloth and width and height, it is permissible to touch with color. Those living utensils also each have their own nature, and must be blessed with their own names. If there are no three Dharma robes in reality, then bless their substitutes, and for those kinds that do not generate attachment to objects, bless them according to conditions. The necessity is that in reality, the faults of holding and separating are avoided, and prejudice does not seep in, and through indirect means, the benefit of detachment from attachment to objects arises. If there are extra utensils, such as a second folded robe, What is permissible is directed towards the Khenpo, and what is not permissible is holding it in reliance on the patron, or blessing it with another name. The way of holding it is, from the perspective of thought, like a wound on the body, covering the wound with clothing, one should have a mindful awareness, especially the folded robe is for surpassing the signs of a novice monk and below, and for following the biography of the teacher, and for the sake of arousing the mindfulness of a practitioner. Thus, the red banner given by the teacher, if it cannot be repaired with patches etc. in the end, then with the aim of increasing the merit of the donor, mix soil and umbilical cord etc., and apply it to the yellow parts of temples and stupas. The basis of leather is that Katyayana's disciple, twenty billion barley seedlings, came from the borderlands of rocky land to see the teacher and requested it, and the teacher allowed it. This precept is special and related, so in order to protect dwellings in the central regions, only leather shoes are allowed, and in homes that are not temples, if there is no cushion, only sitting on leather is allowed. Sleeping is not allowed. In the borderlands, in order to protect against the cold, both leather and mattresses are allowed, but fancy ones, those with gold and silver decorations, shoes that make noise, and the leather of elephants, tigers, leopards, horses, donkeys, etc. are also ornaments.

Therefore, this cannot be prohibited. However, just as garments of Asmapatantara leather were given, so too were hats and boots with shafts given in places where water freezes. The basis of medicine is: When the Teacher was residing in Shravasti, the monks, afflicted by autumn diseases and suffering for a long time, were allowed to take medicine. To this end, medicine was allowed at the appropriate time, in appropriate doses, for seven days. Detailed classifications were made regarding what to hold for the duration of one's life. In terms of meaning, medicine that was primarily given to eliminate accumulated diseases, and which, once blessed, could be enjoyed, was not to be altered. To this end, permission was given to set up a room for storing medicine, where raw boiling and aging could be done, hence it was called a 'room.' In the sutra root, it says, 'Things that are blessed, cooked, and placed in an appropriate place are similar to external things.' To this end, there are four ways to bless a room: First, laying bricks; second, the entire process from starting construction to completion; third, praying and blessing after completion; and fourth, performing the blessing of separation. The latter two also apply to converting old houses into rooms. The basis of dwellings is: In Varanasi, the householder Desang requested the Teacher to build a temple, and the Teacher permitted it. To this end, it is said, 'A temple should be built. A toilet should be built in the center of one side. In front of it is the gatehouse. A square is best.' And so on, as well as the manner of drawing Vajrapani Yaksha on the door after construction, and drawing the five-part wheel of Dharma in the gatehouse, and the teaching that 'the temple should not be abandoned,' one must strive to maintain service and the means of dwelling, and one may freely use the code of conduct. And so on, for the sake of dwelling comfortably, all the foundations were given, and it was explained in detail how to treat the patrons. This sutra is also definitely here. For those who have renounced with the mind of Nirvana and possess discipline, it is appropriate to give a hundred thousand garments, a hundred kinds of food, and five hundred buildings. This is also the property of the Sangha. This is for those below the non-learners. It is also for individuals. But not for those who violate discipline.
