Fifth, matchmaking is, established for the six groups of monks in Shravasti, through mutual contact, transferring non-humans that can be given, or through carving, matchmaking in three ways, causing the two to combine and the organs to meet. Sixth, the remainder of the house is, the Buddha established these two (referring to the house and the bench) for the six groups of monks when residing in Kaushambi. Like this, in a place where the land has many creatures, disputes, and the world, without obtaining permission from the Sangha, wanting to build a house for oneself with items obtained through effort from others. Moreover, the house built exceeds eighteen cubits in length and eleven and a half cubits in width, whether carved by oneself or by others, it must be completely surrounded and covered on top. Seventh, the large house is, built for the purpose of accommodating four or more people, the land has many creatures and everything else is the same as before, the difference is that it is not necessary to use items obtained through effort from others and exceeding the size limit as branches. Eighth, unfounded accusation is, these two (referring to unfounded accusation and slight accusation) were established in Rajagriha for friends and those born from the land. For other monks who behave like Brahma, without seeing, hearing, or suspecting these three grounds, proclaiming the language of accusation through any of the four defeats, and the other party understands. Ninth, slight accusation is, for other monks, using a slight excuse as a reason, accusing through the implication of words in the manner of defeat, that is its meaning. Tenth, the power of the Sangha

Separating the Sangha: This was established in Rajagriha with Devadatta. In a single assembly, the Bhagavan (Blessed One) and the monks separated each other because the two who benefited the Sangha, which was to be separated from themselves, were not in accordance with the Dharma. Furthermore, the remainder of this separation and the category of the five inexpiable sins are not the same. The five inexpiable sins necessarily depend on the separation of the Sangha, like Devadatta's separation of the wheel of the Sangha. However, for the remainder, even if one is not able to separate the Sangha, it is sufficient to not abandon the end of the five means of reversal from engaging in its activity. Moreover, if one does not abandon the end of the first four weighty downfalls and the third statement, it is the actual basis of the remainder. The eleventh, siding with that solitary one, was established in Rajagriha with the four monks, Kokalika and others, who were Devadatta's friends. It means that any monks who engage in separating the Sangha agree with that one in thought and action and abandon the path to the end of the five means of reversal. The twelfth, causing householders to be disgusted, was established in Shravasti with Nanda and Nandavardhana. It means that even if one drives householders away from their homes by engaging in misconduct that contradicts the precepts, such as playing and eating with women, and causing them to lose faith, one is engaging in accusing the Sangha of expulsion with the four unwholesome arguments and not abandoning the end of the five means of reversal. The thirteenth, causing displeasure, was established in Kaushambi with Udana. It means that when a monk who is attached to having committed a downfall is reminded and urged to be disciplined for the sake of the Sangha, he enters into the basis of displeasure by saying, "Whether you are virtuous or sinful, do not say anything to us," and does not abandon the end of the fifth means of reversal. The five means of reversal are related to intimidation, the Sangha's request, and the three actions of speech. The thirty offenses of expiation: If one does not purify oneself by not rectifying a downfall that has occurred through the means of expiation, then its maturation will cause one to fall into the lower realms, hence it is called an offense of expiation. As it is said in the teaching of the excellent path: "Because there are many and various things to be expiated, along with their nature, one abides by striving for expiation, hence it is a downfall." So it is. Dha.
