Cutting off, eating what is not given, eating what is hoarded, other than these, it is called 'reversal'. The six conforming practices are considered Dharma. Thus it is. Those to be restrained in accordance with the same category are those who share the same training with nuns, except for the seven faultless actions. The seven faultless actions are: holding, separating, touching fire, eating what is taken, destroying seeds, discarding impurities in places where there is green grass, and climbing trees. Thus it is. A fully ordained monk has four root defeats, thirteen remainders, thirty defeats, ninety expiations, four confessions, one hundred and twelve misdeeds, and two hundred and fifty-three categories. Thus, it is gathered by determining the number of two hundred and fifty-three objects of training. First, among the four root defeats of the basis of vows, if any monk who has taken vows engages in impure conduct, even if he conceals it for a moment, his vows will be cut off without remainder, which is the root defeat. For example, if the root of a tree is cut, the branches and leaves will not grow upwards. Because the opponent of the unfavorable side is defeated without power, it is called defeat. This defeat is called defeat because it is practiced by those who will be defeated. This is explained based on the Vinaya. In the thirteenth year after the Teacher attained enlightenment, in Shravasti, the monk Sangha, being under the influence of defilements and desire, engaged in impure conduct with his former family, and this precept was established based on this. This impure conduct also requires the completion of the four branches of ground, thought, action, and culmination to become a defeat. Ground: The object of reliance is the organ that is capable of experiencing the pleasure arising from sexual intercourse, which is complete in itself and worthy of being taken in all parts, its genitals, or anus, or any of the three doors of the mouth. Thought: Without shame and fear, and with undistorted consciousness, with attachment, with the motivation to experience the pleasure of touch. Action: Giving what is to be relied upon, the healthy and capable organ of the one who performs the act, and rubbing it. Culmination: Obtaining bliss after passing the boundary of the three paths, if these four branches are complete, it is called defeated by impure conduct, that is, fallen from celibacy. The second defeat is taking what is not given. The basis of the story is

In the city of Rajagriha, the rule was established because the monk Norcan stole trees belonging to King Ajatashatru in order to build his own house. The basis is: an object owned by another, with complete value, the measure of value being one-fourth of a Karshapana. Burnt conch ash is mixed with spheres and leaves and eaten, twenty conches equal one Kakani, four Kakani equal one Masha, which is eighty conches. Twenty Masha equal one Karshapana, which is one thousand six hundred conches. One-fourth of that is four hundred conches, which is the value of a Masha. Generally, value changes with time. In the time when the Buddha was alive, twenty Masha equaled one Karshapana. However, in the time of the scholar Shakya Light (Śākyaprabha), the value decreased, and sixty Masha were considered one Karshapana. Here, as stated in the Root Sutra, the medium measure is five Mashakas. Now, if we consider it as gold tang, as it was determined in accordance with India during the time of the turquoise lord Ralpa Can, one Mashaka is two golden Sevas. Five of those are one-fourth of a Karshapana, which is ten golden Sevas, or equivalent to mountain barley, etc. As stated in the Vinaya Karika: "Stealing one-fourth of a Karshapana, the thief will lose the precepts." It means: knowing that it is someone else's property, with a mind of greed, wanting to steal another's wealth. In action, taking possession of it through body and speech. Ultimately, whether stealing oneself or having someone else steal, damage is done to the object, and one's own mind generates guilt. The third is the root downfall of taking life: The basis is in the Lamp Tree Grove in the land of abandonment, sixty meditators meditating on the contemplation of ugliness, disgusted by the impurity of the body, so they had monks kill those meditators, and thus the rule was established. The basis is a human being or one who has taken human form, and is a different continuum from oneself. The thought is: not being mistaken about the object to be killed. The motivation is: seeking to kill out of anger or belonging to anger. The action is: using poison, weapons, or praising death to cause them to die, or having others kill, or expressing approval of killing, etc., as conditions. Ultimately, before oneself, the life of the one to be killed is cut off. Even if one person kills, as long as they are involved in the plan to kill, they...
