Therefore, the greater the vigor, the faster the liberation, so one should don the armor of diligence. Regarding this, one should abandon the cowardly thought that beginners are accustomed to clinging to self, and accompanied by afflictions, do not wish to arise in this way. Why? Because the view of the perishable aggregate is said to be the lineage of the Tathagata, and the way in which the mind of enlightenment arises based on self-clinging, as stated in the "Lamp Illuminating the King's Request": For example, a lotus arises from muddy water with stems, but never from dry land. Likewise, in beings with afflictions and wrong views, the victorious Dharma of the sons of the conquerors arises. And as stated in the "Garland of Jewels": As long as there is clinging to the aggregates, there is clinging to self. From self-clinging arises karma, and from karma arises rebirth. Therefore, self-clinging and afflictions, when grasped by skillful means, are the cause of the arising of qualities, which is a characteristic of the Great Vehicle. In general, the reason for speaking about the distinction of mental strength here is that in the path of discipline and mantra, one is not allowed to listen to the precepts unless one has first taken vows; while the Bodhisattva path is such that one can properly take vows, as stated in the scriptures, when one has thoroughly understood the precepts, generated faith, and is able to practice them. Therefore, it is for the sake of those who enter this path to have the meaning of great practice, with the power of intelligence increasing more and more. As stated in the "Collected Sutras": Bodhisattvas who possess the practice of the six perfections and so forth, travel by the miraculous power of the Tathagatas. It is praised that there is nothing faster than traveling by the miraculous power of the Tathagatas. There is no other path for Bodhisattvas to enter swiftly except for the six perfections and the ten grounds. The Sutra Pitaka also states: Therefore, the continuum of the mind will gradually subside like extinguishing. This is said based on scriptural support. Therefore, being skilled in means, having great diligence, the manifestation of the natural result of aspirations, and the vastness of aiming for the benefit of others, and the achievement of higher realms and definite goodness, which are of great meaning, are all transcendent of the world, so there is no defilement, and virtuous deeds increase continuously, so they are inexhaustible.

The Ornament says: "Vast and without impurity, Great in meaning and inexhaustible, Of all such as giving, The four qualities should be known." As it is said, relying on this, generate mind-power like accomplishing and protecting, train in the vast conduct of Bodhisattvas such as the six or ten perfections and the four objects of gathering, in order to enter the city of omniscience all at once, that is, to enter Suchness, or, in order to gradually enter the ground of the Thus-Gone One from the first ground, through the nature of the Perfection of Wisdom. Why? Because the Bodhisattva's vows are truly upheld, having promised to benefit sentient beings directly or indirectly, but bearing the burden of downfalls, slowly walking the path of the lower realms is because they are struck by the demon of ignorance and unawareness. As it is said: "Those supreme Bodhisattvas who carry the great burden of sentient beings on their heads, it is not beautiful to walk slowly. Since self and others are tightly bound by various bonds, it is fitting to act with a hundredfold effort." As it is said. Thus, our teacher also went through three countless eons to perfect the vast conduct of enlightenment, and whatever end of action is undertaken, it must be related to the perfect basis for accomplishing that very thing. However, sentient beings, lacking wisdom, regard this special basis of higher realms as the result of past good deeds, but afterwards do not strive for its cause. The more perfect it is, the more it becomes the cause of increasing afflictions and sins, therefore, the fruit of previously accumulated virtues is exhausted as it is used up like the provisions of a long-distance traveler. They do not strive to newly accumulate virtue, and from then on, they begin to go from bad to worse, but they do not care at all, which is a cause for great sorrow. Those who know such faults and are able to use discrimination should not be dominated by perfection, afflictions, and inverted actions, but should always and in every way rely on and habituate themselves to the path of the six perfections, such as giving. As the Ornament of the Sutras says: "Enjoyment and body are perfect, Retinue and activity are perfect, higher realms, Always..."

Not going under the control of afflictions, and not being reversed in all activities. Thus it is said. Among these, for the sake of others, three are needed: generosity, discipline, and patience. For one's own sake, three are needed: wisdom, meditation, and diligence. Among these, generosity accomplishes temporary benefit, and discipline prevents harm to others from its very root, so it is more beneficial than generosity. Moreover, if one cannot tolerate harm from others, discipline will be flawed. Therefore, even when scolded by others, one does not scold back, and protects one's own mind with the four qualities of a renunciate, needing patience that is indifferent. Thus, these three are primarily focused on benefiting others. For one's own benefit, one needs to rely on the perfection of wisdom to attain the wisdom of liberation. Its opposite is a distracted mind, so one needs to rely on the perfection of meditation to attain the ability to focus at will. Moreover, attaining such focus is impossible for the lazy, so one needs to exert diligence day and night without delay. As it is said: Extremely diligent for the sake of sentient beings, Generosity, non-harm, are done with patience, Abiding and liberation with the root possessed, All self-benefit is practiced. Thus it is said. Its meaning is that non-harm is discipline, focus is meditation, liberation is wisdom, and possessing the root is diligence. By accomplishing all benefit to others with the first three, the latter three naturally accomplish all self-benefit. As the Ornament of the Sutras says: Not stingy and not harmful, Patient with harm and not weary of activities, Delightful Because of good speech, benefiting others is benefiting oneself. Thus it is said. Among these, by experiencing meditation based on diligence, one attains tranquility, and from that, the wisdom of individual analysis arises as insight, thereby attaining the wisdom of liberation. Among these, first, the perfection of generosity or its nature, which is the first of benefiting others, is taught. The nature of generosity is non-attachment. The divisions are three: Dharma generosity, material generosity, and fearlessness generosity. Material generosity also has three aspects: giving, great giving, and extreme giving. Giving refers to food, clothing, vehicles, elephants, and countries given to others. Great giving refers to sons and daughte
