It is like this. All sentient beings now have all kinds of defilements, therefore they do not have the thirty-two major marks and eighty minor marks. Thus it is said. These are for the sentient beings to be transformed by the intermediate turning of the wheel of Dharma, who can independently contemplate the meaning of the three doors of liberation without relying on the lower turning of the wheel; while the sentient beings to be transformed by the lower turning of the wheel cannot contemplate in that way, but rely on the lower turning of the wheel to seek the meaning of the intermediate turning of the wheel. And it distinguishes the difference between the former and the latter as sharpness and dullness of faculties. However, the basis of this difference is not reasonable, how can it be established that all sentient beings to be transformed by the lower turning of the wheel are dull-witted? Bodhisattvas who practice and cultivate the six perfections are born from the miraculous power of the Tathagata, and there is nothing faster than this. It is also praised in the Sutra Collection. In the Brahma's Inquiry Sutra, it is said that it cannot be established to say that only those with dull faculties should practice, and those with sharp faculties should not practice. Because from the first bhumi to the tenth bhumi, the practices of giving and so on of the Bodhisattvas will appear, and the remaining practices are not completely not practiced either. This is clear. That is, while showing that all phenomena such as aggregates are truly established, the first turning of the wheel of Dharma proclaims the selflessness of persons; while showing that all phenomena are not truly established, the middle turning of the wheel of Dharma proclaims the selflessness of phenomena; Distinguishing the difference between the imputed nature not being established as the ultimate truth, while the dependent nature and the thoroughly established nature are established as the ultimate truth, the last turning of the wheel of Dharma proclaims. Both the two major vehicles agree that the first of the three turnings of the wheel is provisional. Regarding the latter two turnings of the wheel, the Mind-Only school considers the last one to be definitive, while the Madhyamaka school considers the middle one to be definitive. Therefore, here, the tenets of the causal vehicle are temporarily reserved. As it is said in the Moon Lamp Sutra: The world realm is empty, the sutras I have spoken, the words and phrases are different but the meaning is the same, and it is not possible to express everything. If you become accustomed to one word or phrase, then all of them will become accustomed. And, as it is said in the Sutra of No Arising: For those who do not fully understand the nature of phenomena, the words

The venerable one said, "Will not attain enlightenment!" Therefore, although there is no designation of the path stage for the profound meaning of the sutras and great yoga that are beyond words and thoughts, in order to guide the inferior ordinary beings, it is necessary to guide them gradually. Therefore, one should understand that the meaning of what is said is not contradictory in terms of meaning, as it is said in the Lankavatara Sutra: "The well-learned are those who are proficient in meaning, not those who are proficient in words." The tenets explained through the door of terminology are like drawings made by wise artists. Regarding the differences in taking birth, from the second to the tenth bhumi, one can successively take birth as the wheel-turning king of the four continents, Indra, twins, Tushita, Nirmanarati, Paranirmitavasavartin, and from the three pure lands, the Brahma, lord of the first dhyana, the Great Brahma, lord of the second dhyana, and the Great Isvara, son of the gods, lord of the great thousandfold world of the third dhyana. The master of the tenth bhumi is mentioned in the Avatamsaka Sutra: "Those who abide in this become masters of the three realms." That is to say, if one takes birth as the king of those realms for the benefit of other sentient beings, it is said so in terms of appearance. However, it is not the case that all those who become the king of those realms are bodhisattvas who abide in those bhumis. Some are accomplished by ordinary beings who have accumulated great merit, as it is said in the Letter to a Friend: "Even if one becomes a wheel-turning king, one will eventually become a slave of samsara again." Some are manifested by the emanations of the Tathagatas, such as the wheel-turning king Mandhata, as mentioned before. Generally, from the first bhumi onwards, since one has obtained mastery over life, there is no self-characterized birth, old age, sickness, and death, but they are manifested for the benefit of sentient beings, as it is said in the Uttaratantra: "The noble ones have completely abandoned death, disease, and the suffering of old age. They are born from karma and afflictions, but since these are absent in them, they do not exist. Because they have seen the truth as it is, although they have transcended birth and so on, they show birth, old age, sickness, and death out of great compassion." Thus, one should learn in this way.
