Moreover, the reality of all phenomena is equal in the state of being completely pure by nature, without being one or different. As stated in the noble "One Hundred and Fifty Verses": All is the nature of space, space also has no nature, through combining the nature of space, all attain the supreme equality. And so on. In terms of other meanings, for the imputed, the characteristic is without self-nature because it is not established in the ultimate truth; for the dependent, birth is without self-nature because the mode of birth from the four alternatives is not established. Thus, birth from oneself is non-existent because for things that are already born, birth is momentary and contradictory; birth from another is non-existent because if one analyzes other and self-nature, it cannot be established. Birth from both is also not established because of contradiction. If there is no cause, then the result of birth will cease. Like the appearance, birth and so on that are in accordance with appearance are merely appearances from dependent origination, like a dream or an illusion. Manjushri, a dream appears but does not exist. Similarly, all phenomena appear but do not exist. And so on, were extensively taught. For the thoroughly established, it is the selflessness of the ultimate truth because the nature of self abides in the ultimate truth, so there is no nature of elaboration such as impurity. Its meaning is also as stated in the "Explanation of the Thought Sutra": Considering the selflessness of characteristics, the selflessness of birth, and the selflessness of the ultimate truth, I have taught that all phenomena are without self-nature. Thus it was taught, and it should be understood that this is the great key to the definitive meaning sutras. In terms of other times, for example: Whoever holds, utters, or reads this aspiration of the Good Conduct, the Buddha knows its ripening result, do not have doubt about supreme enlightenment. Like this, merely through it, without relying on other causes and conditions, one will not touch enlightenment, but considering that one has previously accumulated a great amount of merit, at some point it will become like the helmsman of the ship of attainment. In terms of individuals, for example, being arrogant about generosity, being overly attached to discipline, etc., both of these are disparaged, while patience and diligence are praised. Just like the Venerable Kashyapa, for example, paying homage to the waxing moon, but not to the full moon. Kashyapa

Likewise, those who have great faith in anything whatsoever will prostrate to bodhisattvas. But not to the Tathagatas. It is like saying that. In general, arrogance and manifest clinging to signs are great obstacles that are contrary to the six perfections, etc., as stated in the chapter of the Manifestations of Manjushri: "Son of the gods, the more one engages in activities, the more it is the work of Mara. The more one desires, the more one clings, the more one excessively clings, the more it is the work of Mara. The more one craves, the more one perceives, the more one is arrogant, the more one discriminates, the more it is the work of Mara. Son of the gods, furthermore, manifest clinging to the mind of enlightenment is also the work of Mara. Manifest clinging to the mind of generosity is also the work of Mara. Likewise, manifest clinging to the mind of discipline, patience, diligence, meditation, and wisdom is also the work of Mara." And so on, extensively explained. The second aspect is the hidden meaning: With a hidden meaning, for any being to be tamed, whose wisdom cannot comprehend, who harbors hesitation and uncertainty, in order to make them happy with that thing, with names and parts that are compatible, from different aspects, to introduce them to the right path, explaining words that are similar but meanings that are different. As it says in the Nirvana Sutra: "World Honored One, what is called 'a statement with a hidden meaning'? Odsrung, what is called 'a statement with a hidden meaning' is that the Tathagata has completely passed into nirvana, but now it is said that the Tathagata is permanent and stable, and even though he has completely passed into nirvana, he will not decay, this sutra is a statement with a hidden meaning." Thus it is. Furthermore, the so-called hidden meaning refers to when one wants to truly take care of others, but from different aspects, one makes statements that differ from that expression. As it says in the chapter of Ajatashatru: "Then, King Ajatashatru, in his own house, saw those bodhisattvas and great shravakas washing their bowls and hands, and in order to hear the Dharma, he sat in front of the youth Manjushri, saying: Manjushri, please remove my regret. Manjushri said: Great King, your regret cannot be removed even by Buddhas, World Honored Ones, as numerous as the sands of the Ganges River."
