There are two types of distinctions. Similarly, what is the use of distinguishing whether or not one can be born based on the presence or absence of sin? One who possesses any of the seven types of individual liberation vows and has the mind of aspiration and engagement is called a Bodhisattva's discipline of morality, which is an ordained Bodhisattva. The tenets of the Ornament of the Sutras, compiled by Maitreya and explained by the brothers Asanga, will be explained. The extremely vast scriptures just mentioned, such as the Flower Ornament Sutra, the Akashagarbha Sutra, the Ratnakuta Sutra, the Bhadrakalpa Sutra, and the Advice to the King, were compiled by Manjushri and explained by Nagarjuna's heart. Even taking the vow not to kill for one day generates the mind of enlightenment of a Bodhisattva. Since this is not an individual liberation vow, etc., it is well established that the Madhyamaka and Cittamatra are different. As it is said in the Noble Ratnakuta Sutra: "The discipline of vows causes the Bodhisattva to abide in the mind. The discipline of gathering virtuous dharmas perfects the Buddha's dharma. The discipline of benefiting sentient beings matures sentient beings." Therefore, although the word discipline refers to vows, it is not limited to pure conduct, because the vows taken and established by the Bodhisattva are also discipline. Similarly, in the Madhyamaka tradition, even if the mind of enlightenment is taken by one who holds the individual liberation vows, there is no difference in the ritual for obtaining the Bodhisattva vows. The Cittamatra tradition holds that individual liberation vows are not necessary for generating the mind of aspiration, but the basis for taking the vows of engagement is said to be any of the seven types of individual liberation vows. When one who possesses this basis studies the Bodhisattva's canon and is able to believe and practice, one first asks about obstacles and then proclaims the precepts. The way of arising is also from a joyful mind, so after making the mind joyful through offerings, etc., one takes the rituals of aspiration and engagement separately. So, if both belong to the Great Vehicle canon, how can there be internal contradictions in the tenets? The Bodhisattva's discipline has two aspects.

That which has been distinguished. The common one is the lay vows or any of the Pratimoksha vows, which are not ultimately prohibited. The uncommon one is the Bodhisattva's pure intention of ethics, therefore it cannot enter into the form vows, or if it can, it is because of the need to increase great benefits to others. For example, the Bodhisattvas Good Guardian and Vimalakirti are shown as householders, and as stated, they are connected with their Vinaya Pitaka. As stated, holding the correct view of Madhyamaka is initiated by the great scholar Nagarjuna and the prince Shantideva. Furthermore, the root of the teachings is the sacred Vinaya. For the first person or those who do not have the lineage, in order to mainly subdue their own minds with the form vows, the brothers Asanga said in the Ornament of the Sutras, following the supreme ordained Bodhisattva, explaining the generation of Bodhicitta according to the view of the Mind-Only school, in any way. As stated in the Ten Wheels of Ksitigarbha Sutra: The pure ethics of the Bodhisattva are of two kinds, common and uncommon. The common one is the lay vows, or the fully ordained Pratimoksha of the ordained. The uncommon one is to protect the ethics with equal love, harmlessness, and non-anger towards all sentient beings. Without looking at all the ripening of existence, protect it. If the meaning of what is said is understood, then the sectarian partiality of merely following the treatises will be pacified. Now, in order to explain in connection with the practice of the vast conduct, the vows and the precepts of entering, in order to summarize the meaning of what is learned, may I completely transfer this body to others, bear the burden of others' suffering, practice the extraordinary strength of giving and taking, and vow to never be separated until enlightenment. Not transgressing the nature of aspiration and engagement is to hold the mind. Abandoning the unfavorable conditions and immediately remedying any transgressions is to purify.
