Like a seed, it is the unique cause of supreme Bodhi. Its training has two aspects: the prohibitive discipline, which is to turn away from all misdeeds; and the engaging discipline, which is to familiarize oneself with the six perfections. As it is said, merely taking vows is not enough; engaging in practice is the essence. Therefore, for those who cannot do so, they should generate great aspirational mind. As it is said in the *Advice to the King Sutra*: "Great King, you are busy with many affairs and do many things. If you cannot train in the perfection of generosity from all of everything, in all ways of everything, up to the perfection of wisdom, then, Great King, in this way, for the aspiration, faith, pursuit, and wish for complete Bodhi, whether walking, standing, sitting, lying down, waking up, eating, or drinking, always remember it without interruption, keep it in mind, meditate on it. Gather together all the roots of virtue of all the Buddhas, Bodhisattvas, Shravakas, Pratyekabuddhas, all ordinary beings, and my past, future, and present, and rejoice with the supreme rejoicing. After rejoicing, also offer it to the Buddhas, Bodhisattvas, Pratyekabuddhas, and Shravakas. After offering, also share it with all sentient beings. Then, dedicate it to unsurpassed perfect and complete Bodhi in the three times, like one day, in order to attain the state of omniscience for all sentient beings and to perfect all the Buddha's teachings. Great King, engage in this way, be the king! The kingdom of the king will not decline, and the accumulation of Bodhi will be perfected." This passage well explains the characteristics of aspiration and is very beneficial to all sentient beings in the degenerate age. Therefore, my omniscient great Lama also said that aspiration is the part of pursuing Bodhi, and engaging in practice is the other part that pervades practice, and both must be complete. Thus, the chapter on generating the mind.

It makes analogies to all things that are separated, especially in terms of meaning. When Bodhicitta arises, so do mental factors. The essence of the meaning of mind is self-aware. Thus, the mind, like waking up from a faint, is aware by its own power. The difference in the meaning of mental factors lies in judging the subtlety and coarseness of the object, just as one is aware of the appearance of red and white colors by one's own power. Because mind and mental factors operate in the same way, when the essence arises, the difference is also obtained along with it. As stated in the Madhyāntavibhāga, "There, seeing the meaning is consciousness; by that, the difference arises from the mind." Therefore, the individual trainings will be explained below. The nature is extensively divided as follows: From the perspective of division, there are two types of Bodhicitta: ordinary and noble. There are three types of Bodhicitta based on the three trainings. Especially on the path of accumulation and the path of preparation, one practices with faith. From the first bhumi to the seventh, there is higher intention. On the three pure bhumis, there is maturation. On the Buddha bhumi, there is the abandonment of obscurations, making four in total. Similarly, there are five types of Bodhicitta that follow the five paths. Depending on the six perfections, there are that many in number. The division of the bhumis is twenty-two, etc. Intention encompasses aspiration, and practice encompasses application. Thus, these two, known as aspiration and application Bodhicitta, are like one person having different names due to different actions. First, the difference between the Bodhicitta of ordinary beings and noble beings is that, as stated in the Nirvana Sutra, "The difference between conventional and ultimate, there are two types of Bodhicitta." That is, the difference between focusing on external sentient beings and focusing on one's own inner nature. In the Great Sutra on Generating Bodhicitta, it is said, "All dharmas are without characteristics like the sky, and are originally clear and pure, this is called Bodhi. Corresponding to this, the precious mind that has not arisen before arises, this is called generating Bodhicitta." Therefore, these two are shown as having the nature of cause and effect. There are three types of Bodhicitta based on the three trainings, as stated in the Madhyamaka Sutra, "What is the mind that guards the faultless discipline, what is the mind that gathers virtuous dharmas, what is the mind that matures sentient beings, one should diligently engage in these three types of generation of mind." That is, the Bodhicitta of taking on the three precious disciplines.
