The power of recovering from not doing evil, relying on the Three Jewels for refuge and cherishing the precious Bodhicitta, making sins exhausted and lessened is the power of reliance. In the Sutra of the Four Dharmas, it says: Maitreya, if a Bodhisattva possesses four dharmas, then all the sins done and accumulated will be overcome. What are the four? They are as follows: constantly practicing remorse, constantly practicing antidotes, the power of recovery, and the power of reliance. Among them, the first is that if one engages in non-virtuous actions, one should have great regret for that action. The second is that even if one has done non-virtuous actions, one should be extremely diligent in performing virtuous actions. The third is that having taken pure vows, one obtains the vow not to do evil. The fourth is that one takes refuge in the Buddha, Dharma, and Sangha, and does not abandon the Bodhicitta. Thus it is said. So, how to confess is as follows: Visualize countless Buddhas and Bodhisattvas gathered in the sky in front of you, remember the meaning of refuge and the four powers, recite the Sutra of the Three Heaps, and the verses from the Samantabhadra's Prayer, such as "Due to the power of desire, anger, and ignorance," etc., or confess by reciting "All those who dwell in all directions," etc., as mentioned in the Bodhicharyavatara. If you confess in this way, sins are also conditioned phenomena, so they will not exist together. As it says in the Maitreya's Great Lion's Roar Sutra: Whatever sinful deeds are done out of ignorance, I confess them; after the wise confess their faults, the karma will not exist together. In particular, what becomes the most excellent of repentance is meditating on the view of emptiness. As it says in the Buddha Treasury Sutra: Even killing parents and Pratyekabuddhas can be liberated from meditating on emptiness. The fourth limb is the limb of rejoicing. Without disturbing oneself by any means, making others pure by the difference of one thought, the behavior of a robber who steals white virtues in an instant can be done only through rejoicing. Therefore, one rejoices with satisfaction and joy for those sentient beings who are liberated from the suffering of the lower realms and experience happiness, and for the higher realms and definite goodness obtained by others.

When accumulating the accumulations of merit and wisdom, even if there is not the slightest disturbance of body and mind that increases from oneself, one should rejoice in it from the point of view of thought. One should rejoice and rejoice in all the virtues of the complete, mature, and purified three qualities of the complete Buddhas, and the ocean of virtues generated by the princes and Bodhisattvas from the perspective of aspiration and entry. The benefit of doing so is that I will not plunder the roots of virtue of others. Dandi's rhetoric says that plundering can be compared to the way of obtaining merit. In the past, King Bright King of Kosala, day and night, served the Tathagata, including his disciples. A poor man wandering in the street practiced rejoicing, and in the evening, when it was time to dedicate, the teacher said: Great King, should the excellence of today's merit be dedicated from the name of you, the King? Or should it be dedicated from the names of those who have obtained greater merit than you? The king requested: If someone has greater merit than me, please dedicate it from his name. So he began to dedicate from the name of the poor man. Thus, it is said in the Sutra Collection: The Sumeru Mountain of three thousand worlds can be measured with a scale, but the root of virtue of rejoicing cannot be measured in that way. Fifth is the limb of turning the wheel of Dharma: Those who have not been tamed by the actions of unliberated samsara, no matter how hard and stubborn, for those who cannot be tamed and have no stability, urge them to turn the sharp spokes and rims of the wheel of Dharma. Thus, the actions of sentient beings in samsara are untamed, not pacified, not subdued, sinful and unwholesome, deceiving with cunning, as hard as an iron bolt for the sake of giving, as stubborn as diamond glue for the habit of evil deeds, and able to endure, and for the aspect of renunciation and faith, the mind stream is like stiff linen. For them, there is no way to tame them by any other means, so urge them to turn the sharp spokes of the three wheels of Dharma, which can be summarized in terms of hidden meaning, explicit meaning, and euphemism, and the rims that do not transcend the manifestation of increase and definite goodness. Thus, it is said in the Bodhisattvacharyavatara: To the Buddhas of all directions, with folded hands
