Visualize Buddhas and Bodhisattvas residing in front of you, and then take the vows. As such, regarding the object of taking vows, the term "discipline" generally applies to both the Lesser and Great Vehicles. However, in terms of form, the difference in method and intention between the two can lead to one's virtuous deeds being seen as evil by the other, and vice versa. Therefore, here, the focus is mainly on the excellent individual who is complete with the qualities of the Bodhisattva vows themselves, that is, one who has awakened the lineage of the Great Vehicle and whose mind is filled with the precious Bodhicitta. If such an object can be found, then one should take the vows from them, because it is the nature of things that the cause produces the result. Therefore, the teacher Hero (དཔའ་བོ།) also said: "First, by relying on a spiritual friend, all inner and outer dharmas are the teacher." If such an object cannot be found, then for those who have the ability of self-reliance, there is no need to rely on a teacher or a famous sinner. As the meaning of the Sutra of the Array of the Pure Lands of Manjushri is stated in the Lamp for the Path: "If a lama is not found, to take vows from another, this correct ritual should be explained. In the past, Manjushri, manifested as Ambalaraja, how to generate Bodhicitta, as it is said in the Sutra of the Array of the Buddha Land of Manjushri, so it is clearly written here." Thus, after recording the history, the method of the ritual is: in front of all the protectors, generate the perfect Bodhicitta, and invite all sentient beings as guests. Liberate them from samsara, the nature of anger and wrath, stinginess and jealousy, from now until attaining supreme Bodhi, do not do them. Practice celibacy, abandon sins and desires. Rejoice in the discipline of morality, and follow the Buddhas. Do not desire to attain Bodhi quickly, but for the sake of one sentient being, I will abide at the end of samsara. Purify those immeasurable and inconceivable lands. All things done from the beginning of the name, abide in the ten directions. My actions of body and speech, at all times, should be purified, and do not do unwholesome deeds. Thus, accumulate vast clouds of offerings, in the sky in front, Buddhas and Bodhisattvas.

Visualize and receive the immeasurable assembly abiding. At any time, it is crucial to adjust the motivation. Always proclaim the initial, intermediate, and final virtues, as well as the immeasurable merits of Bodhicitta, which are as exquisite as ornaments and tree arrangements. In general, the initial, intermediate, and final virtues are the unmistakable characteristics of pure Dharma, as previously explained. Here, for the sake of mind training, the initial virtue is to be weary of the faults of Samsara, the intermediate virtue is to rejoice in the benefits of liberation, and the final virtue is to thoroughly tame one's own continuum with omniscient wisdom, emptiness, and great compassion as the core, and to generate joy in the benefits of Bodhicitta in the present moment. Here, too, briefly describe the reasons stated like the arrangement of trees. Those sentient beings who generate the unsurpassed, perfectly complete Bodhi mind in the world are extremely difficult to find. The mind of enlightenment is like the seed of the Buddha. Like a field, it causes the white Dharma of all beings to increase. Like the fire at the end of an eon, it burns all sins. Like the underground, it exhausts all non-virtuous dharmas. Like the wish-fulfilling jewel king, it accomplishes all benefits. Like a good vase, it fulfills all wishes. Like an iron hook, it pulls out those who drift in the water of Samsara. Like a stupa for the world of gods, humans, and asuras. In short, as many as there are Buddha's teachings and Buddha's qualities, there are also as many qualities and benefits of the mind of enlightenment. What is the reason for that? Because all the mandalas of the conduct of Bodhisattvas arise from this. All the Tathagatas who have appeared in the past, future, and present also arise from this. Son of lineage, for example, there is a mercury lineage called "appearing as gold," and one ounce of mercury can turn one hundred ounces of iron into gold. That one ounce of mercury will not be exhausted by a thousand ounces of iron, nor will it be transformed into iron. Similarly, the mercury realm of generating the mind for all-knowingness, all roots of virtue
