It is the supreme power of relying on the strength that overwhelms sins. In general, it is difficult for sinful people to generate Bodhicitta. Therefore, as a remedy for this, the Sutra of Four Dharmas says: "The sins that have been committed and accumulated will be overwhelmed by the power of reliance." Here, the power of reliance is to take refuge in the Three Jewels and not to abandon Bodhicitta. It is said so. Among them, the difference of taking refuge is also shown by "Until the essence of Bodhi". In addition, the Ornament of Sutras says that there are five powers: friend power, multitude power, root power, learning power, and the power of being accustomed to virtue, arising from instability and stability. It is said. Similarly, the scholar Asanga also followed the White Lotus of Great Compassion and the Sutra of Ten Dharmas, saying that it arises from four conditions and four powers. The four conditions are: generating the mind after seeing the perfection of the Tathagata, generating the mind after seeing the benefits, generating the mind after seeing the faults of the destruction of the holy Dharma, and generating the mind after seeing the suffering of sentient beings. The four powers are: the power of seed, the power of practice, the power of self, and the power of others. Among them, the first is that the good lineage who has been accustomed to the Great Vehicle in the past now generates (Bodhicitta) merely by hearing the merits of the Buddha and Bodhisattvas. The second is to rely on a noble person, hear the Dharma from him, and contemplate its meaning, etc., so that he becomes accustomed to virtue. The third is to desire perfect enlightenment by the power of one's own practice of virtue, which is self-power. The fourth is to desire perfect enlightenment by the power of being urged by others, which is the power of others. These eight causes and conditions, if they arise from one's own power and the power of seed, then they can stabilize the cause of entering the mind; if they arise from the power of others and the power of practice, then they make the cause of the aspiration mind unstable, which is explained from here. If we briefly summarize these meanings, then the faith focused on the Buddha, the compassion focused on sentient beings, and the knowledge of the benefits of Bodhicitta, these three are the infallible causes of generating Bodhicitta, and should be understood as such. Thus, it is said that there are two kinds of individuals who rely on the generation of Bodhicitta, namely, the lineage of individual liberation vows.

Does one possess any of the seven types of individual liberation vows? In the Ratnarashi Sutra, the primary basis is intention. Subsequently, entering the Madhyamaka path is broader. Generally, the mind of enlightenment (bodhicitta) exists in both the Greater and Lesser Vehicles. The Hearer's (Shravaka) school has three types: Arhats, Solitary Realizers, and Buddhas, but there are no rituals or practices for it. Here, the mind of enlightenment in the Mahayana is known as having two schools: the Mind-Only (Cittamatra) and the Middle Way (Madhyamaka). According to the former, it is believed that it must arise based on any of the seven types of individual liberation vows. As stated in the Lamp for the Path to Enlightenment: "One who always possesses the seven individual liberation vows has the potential for the Bodhisattva vows; otherwise, not." Therefore, although the essence of the Madhyamaka school and these two are not different, the views, rituals, purification of downfalls, and all the trainings are distinct. Therefore, it is not permissible to act arbitrarily. This is also explained in the Bodhisattva-bhumi, especially prohibiting it from arising in sinful individuals. In this Madhyamaka school, the basis is not fixed, as taught in the Avatamsaka Sutra, the Bhadrakalpika Sutra, the Akasagarbha Sutra, and others. As it is said in the Ratnarashi Sutra: "At that time, when this Dharma category was taught, countless beings such as gods, nagas, asuras, garudas, and mahoragas generated the mind of unsurpassed, perfect, and complete enlightenment." And Jetari said: "A son or daughter of good family who possesses a complete basis and intention." Therefore, in terms of body and mind, generally, anyone who can generate the aspiration mind can be the basis for this school. However, specifically, if there is no one with the mind to vow not to kill, etc., and not to violate the trainings of the mind of enlightenment, then it cannot arise in them either. Therefore, even if such a person is given vows, it is only creating a container for downfalls and has no other meaning. Therefore, the bodily basis can include any sentient being, because the Victorious One has great compassion, and even if one takes the vow not to kill for one day, one can generate the mind of enlightenment. This is because the basis of intention is the special merit of faith, compassion, and other virtuous minds. It is also the same in the Ratnarashi Sutra.
