Because it surpasses the Pratyekabuddhas, it is unsurpassed, and it should be known that the noble path is attained. Gods and humans are excellent beings who travel in the higher realms, and they are also vessels for the noble path. Therefore, because it teaches them without reversing the truth, it is the teacher of gods and humans. Because they have understood Suchness, they are called Buddhas, the Blessed Ones, and they have made the nature of no-self into a common expression, thereby causing the ultimate to disappear. From the perspective of the way the essence abides, if the distinctions of qualities are explained as they are internally, then the Buddhas, the Blessed Ones, are those who have abandoned all faults, having abandoned the afflictions through what is abandoned by seeing and what is abandoned by cultivation, and all obscurations of knowledge. In another way, because they have abandoned well, abandoned without returning, and abandoned completely, they possess the qualities of the three abandonments. As the Lord of Knowledge said: Abandoning the cause, three qualities, Sugata. And so on, as explained extensively. From the aspect of the perfection of qualities, there are the five eyes, the six superknowledges, the ten powers, the doors of dharani, the ten strengths, the four fearlessnesses, the four specific perfect knowledges, the eighteen unshared qualities of a Buddha, and so on. Among these five eyes, what is included in the Buddha-ground is the eye of all-knowing. The corresponding one exists from the eighth ground onwards. The Dharma eye directly realizes all the sharp and dull faculties of noble individuals. The wisdom eye directly sees the meaning of all phenomena being empty of their own nature. The divine eye knows the death and birth of beings as they are. The flesh eye directly sees all subtle and coarse forms from a hundred yojanas up to three thousand worlds. Among the six superknowledges, the superknowledge of miraculous powers is the shaking of the earth, transforming one into many, and so on. The superknowledge of the divine ear is the realization of all the great and small sounds of all realms of the world as they are. The superknowledge of knowing the minds of others is the direct determination of whether others' continuums are free from afflictions or not. The superknowledge of remembering past lives is one's own and others'

Knowing the past hundreds of thousands of generations, etc. The clairvoyance of the divine eye is the direct realization of all subtle and coarse forms of kalpas and non-kalpas. The exhaustion of outflows is the direct knowledge of the means of abandoning obscurations and the liberation of what has been abandoned. These are obtained by relying on the four dhyanas, in the manner of mutually causal results, as stated in the Compendium of Abhidharma. Whether it is an outsider, a Shravaka, or a Bodhisattva, they can achieve the immeasurable by relying on the four dhyanas. Just as the immeasurable are, so are the five kinds of clairvoyance. Thus it is said. The ten powers are: being able to abide even if one wants to live until the end of the kalpa, thus having power over life; obtaining power over countless doors of samadhi, thus having power over mind; having mastery over the inexhaustible nature of the treasury of space, thus having power over resources; showing the results of actions in places such as crafts and arts, thus having power over actions; being able to be born wherever one desires, thus having power over birth; being able to show that all realms of the world are filled with the body of the Buddha, thus having power over aspirations; being able to emanate great Bodhi manifestations, thus having power over wishes; being able to show many different miracles to various kinds of beings to be tamed at the same time, thus having power over miracles; knowing all knowable things without obstruction, thus having power over wisdom; being skilled in all the words and meanings of the Dharma, thus having power over the Dharma. These ten powers are the characteristics of Bodhisattvas of the three pure grounds, as stated in the Sutra Collection Cloud of Dharma and others. The doors of Dharani are of various kinds, and their nature is as stated by the noble Manjushri: What is called Dharani is not losing mindfulness, not distracting awareness, not being foolish in wisdom, manifesting wisdom, knowing the extreme differences of the words of all Dharmas, etc., which are extensively taught. The ten powers are stated by Chandrakirti: The power of knowing what is and is not the place, likewise, the wisdom of the maturation of actions, the ability to comprehend various aspirations, the wisdom of various realms, likewise, the wisdom of superior and non-superior faculties, and the wisdom of knowing all destinations, the wisdom of meditative absorption, liberation, and samadhi.
