Arising from... and gathered by the virtue of the Great Vehicle, it becomes the cause for the first moment of the path of the Great Vehicle's non-learner to arise in the mindstream of sentient beings. The physical basis is mostly the men and women of Jambudvipa, as well as the gods of the desire and form realms. As stated in the Ornament of the Sutras: "Deliberately taking existence." Therefore, it does not completely prohibit being born in other places. The mental basis is the fourth dhyana. Furthermore, the virtue that belongs to the wheel of the nature of the ten bhumis is the Noble Eightfold Path. As stated in the Letter to a Friend: "Right view, right livelihood, right effort, and right mindfulness, right concentration, speech, action, and right thought are the eight limbs of the path." Among these, right view is wisdom without outflows. Right livelihood is abandoning flattery and wrong livelihood. Right effort is diligence, which is the four right abandonments. Right mindfulness is not forgetting the object of focus. This also corresponds to the four mindfulnesses, because mindfulness itself is mindfulness. Moreover, the ultimate characteristic of right mindfulness is wisdom itself. As stated in the commentary on the Letter to a Friend: "Those who explain that mindfulness is mindfulness, according to their tenets, mindfulness is wisdom." Right concentration is the fourth dhyana. Right speech is the four virtuous paths of action that rely on speech. Right action is the nature of abandoning the three non-virtuous paths of action of the body. Right thought is having no intention to harm, resolving to renounce, and obtaining various kinds of virtuous thoughts. Therefore, these eight noble paths are the place of peace, and because they are cultivated in order to attain nirvana, it is said: "Cultivate for the sake of peace." etc. Furthermore, in order to counteract the ten opposing factors such as miserliness, it is determined that there are ten bhumis. As stated in the Avatamsaka Sutra: "O sons of the Buddhas, in order to purify the ten opposing factors in these ten bhumis, they are particularly distinguished by the ten perfections. In the first bhumi, the perfection of generosity is mainly practiced, and the remaining...

It is also not the case that one should not do whatever one can. From "like this" to "the perfection of wisdom" is how it is said. Its ten to be abandoned are: miserliness, immoral discipline, anger, laziness, distraction, corrupt wisdom, lack of skillful means, obscuration of power, failure to fulfill aspirations, and the obscuration of knowledge. It should be understood that whatever abandons these ten to be abandoned is its very nature. If divided, the path of meditation is divided into three: small, medium, and large, with a division of three sets of three, making nine. Among them, the smallest of the small is the second ground, the stainless ground, which is the perfection of discipline that has become supreme. As it is said in the Ornament of the Sutras: "Because it is free from the defilement of immoral conduct and effort, it is called the stainless ground." And as it is said in the Precious Garland: "Its ripening result is that the perfection of discipline becomes supreme, becoming the lord of the seven precious things, a wheel-turning king who benefits beings." Therefore, immoral discipline and the defilement of effort are completely purified, and the twelve thousand qualities mentioned earlier are obtained in an instant, and one is able to obtain the birth of a wheel-turning king who rules over the four continents. The medium of the small is the third ground, the illuminating ground, which comes from the perfection of patience. As it is said in the Ornament: "Because it makes the great light of Dharma, it is called the illuminating ground." And as it is said in the Precious Garland: "Its ripening result is that one practices patience and diligence even more, becoming a great powerful god, able to turn back attachment to desirable things." Therefore, because the great light of Dharma, or the light of peaceful wisdom, arises, meditation and clairvoyance arise, and one has twelve hundred thousand qualities, and one has the ability to obtain the birth of the lord of the gods, Indra. The great of the small is the fourth ground, the radiating ground, which is the perfection of diligence. As it is said in the Ornament: "Thus, the dharmas in accordance with enlightenment, burn like fire, and because it is endowed with that, that ground radiates light by burning the two." And as it is said in the Precious Garland: "Its ripening result is that one breaks through the limit and becomes a god-king, one who gives rise to the extreme view of the aggregates, is a wise one who completely destroys everything." It means that the light of correct wisdom is sharp like a burning fire and radiates light.
